Teddy's POV

"Let me get this straight."  I said while rubbing my temples.  "While Winter and I were pumping Gompers' stomach after he ate nightshade from the forest, a town meeting was held to elect a new mayor.  Which both you and Bud Gleeful volunteered for."

  "Pretty much, yeah."  Stan replied.

I groaned.  "This is going to end terribly."

"Watch it, Grizzly."  Stan said with a smirk.  "You're talking to the future mayor of Gravity Falls."

"Stan, I'll believe it when I see it."  I leaned against my office desk and crossed my arms.  "If you weren't posing as Ma's husband, I sincerely doubt you'd even get through a date without jumping out of a window.  Speaking of posing..."  I raised my eyebrow.  "If you're using Stanford's name, wouldn't he technically become the mayor if you miraculously won?  As I recall, when the summer is over you're supposed to leave Gravity Falls."

"I... huh."  My uncle rubbed his neck.  "Guess I didn't really think about that."  He sighed.  "I've just been feeling useless around the shack lately.  I need something to make me feel worthwhile again, you know?"

"This is about Ma, isn't it?"

Stan looked away, his cheeks dusted pink.  "I'll never understand how you've gotten so good at reading me."

I patted his shoulder.  "I must've gotten it from Ma."  I paused for a moment.  "I suppose it's understandable.  If she's spending more time with him than with you, after you two spent thirty years together, I can see how you'd feel inadequate."  I studied my uncle's face, which was filled with sadness.  "Just... don't do anything stupid.  Maybe talk to Ma about how you're feeling."  Suddenly I was enveloped into a tight hug.

"Thanks, kid.  For... you know.  Talking to me."  Stan said before letting go.

I gave him a small smile.  "No problem.  Now let's get Gompers into the Stanmobile."

I heard strange cackling in the distance.  As I rubbed my eyes, a strange pyramid creature appeared in front of me.  "Well well well well well well well well!"  The voice emanated from it.  "If it isn't the offspring of my two favorite nerds.  How are ya, kid?  The name's Bill Cipher.  Pleased to meet ya!"

I stared at the thing, dumbfounded.  "Hello."

Bill looked me up and down.  "You're quite the spitting image of Sixer, minus the extra digits and having different eyes."  The triangle leaned in closer to my face, making me extremely uncomfortable.  "I bet you're just as smart as them, aren't ya?"

I shifted the weight on my feet.  "I guess."  I made direct eye contact with the monster.  "What do you want from me?"

"Straight to the point, eh?"  He circled me.  "I like that.  I'm willing to give you all the knowledge you desire.  From this dimension or otherwise."  He snapped his fingers, revealing a strange orb-like object with a dark swirling cloud-like pattern on the inside.  "Simply in exchange for this."

I examined the sphere.  "What is it?"

Cipher rolled his eye and made it disappear.  "That isn't important.  All that matters is that it's somewhere in the Mystery Shack and I can't get it myself.  So..."  The triangle held out his hand, blue flames engulfing it.  "Do we have a deal?"

"How do I know that I can trust you?" I asked cautiously.

"You don't. But you have to admit that you've never seen anything like me and it makes you too curious to deny such an offer, right?"  Bill said with a strange glint in his eye.

I looked down at his hand, half tempted to accept the offer.  I sighed.  "Sorry Mr. Cipher, but I'm gonna have to deny your request."

Bill frowned.  "I thought you were smarter than that."  His voices warped into something far more demonic than before.  "You're gonna regret this, kid."

I woke up, drenched in sweat.  That was... a dream?  I ran my fingers through my hair.  It felt so real.  I took out my phone and quickly dialed Ma's number.

After a few moments, she picked up.  "Hello?"

  "Hey Ma."

"Teddy Bear, aren't you still at work?"

I stood up and started to pace.  "I am.  But something just happened to me and I just have this feeling that you'd know about it."

"What happened?"  She asked, sounding more concerned than before.

"Have you ever heard of a Bill Cipher before?"

The other end was silent for a couple moments.  "Where did you hear that name."  She said in a serious tone.

  "I just had a dream and I-"

  "Come to the shack. Now."

When I walked through the door, Ma grabbed my arm and dragged me to the basement.  "Why are you so frantic, Ma?  What's going on?"  I asked.

She sighed as she leaned against one of the tables.  "When Stan and I told you about Ford, I couldn't tell you about Bill.  He... was the reason why your dad built the portal in the first place.  Tricked him into it so that he could attempt to take dominion over the world."  She took one of my hands and looked me directly in the eyes.  "I was hoping that demon bitch wouldn't involve you in this, but I suppose that was too much to ask for.  What did the flying dorito want you to do?  And more importantly, did you agree to it?"

"He wanted me to find and give him a weird orb thing that had dark cloud-like stuff inside it.  I didn't agree to it."

Ma took in a shaky breath.  "It's good you didn't take his offer.  What he wanted you to take is something that would allow him to take physical shape in our dimension."  She patted my cheek.  "In about a week or so Ford will be able to help you keep the pest from possessing you. Can you wait until then?"

I frowned.  "Why can't he do it now?"

Ma hesitated.  "He doesn't know that Bill is on the move again.  He will soon though."

"I suppose I can wait until then..."  I said.  "Will he keep coming for me?"

"Honestly, I don't know.  That damn triangle likes to torment this family in general."  She led me back upstairs.  "In meantime, you just need to stay strong.  You might get some nightmares from now on."

"O-okay."  I hesitated.  "Should Winter know about this?"

She thought for a moment.  "Yes.  It's better to be safe than sorry.  Bring her with you next week, alright?"

"Alright."  I made my way to the door, but Ma stopped me.

"Don't tell anyone else about this."  She said sternly.

  "I won't."

A/N

Heeey guys.  I'm sorry for the long delay.  I'll try to set myself a schedule to be more consistent with making chapters.
