- Chapter 31 - Some More Stuff About The Cast -
Warnings: Nothing much. It's pretty light chapters lol, mainly just curiousity
Third Person POV"You know what I've noticed?" Josh flopped on the ground next to the group that was taking a water break.
Everyone in the group looked over at him.
"Jesse has an accent," Josh stated, laying on his back on the ground.
Isaac rolled his eyes, screwing the cap back on his water bottle. "Duh," he said like it was obvious, "Jesse has a New York accent. We live in Midtown."
"Besides Emilio," Jeremy added, taking another sip of his water.
Josh rolled his eyes at Isaac. "No," he rolled back onto his stomach, "like, not a New York accent."
Aiden raised an eyebrow at him. "Wha-" he started.
Caden shot up, an abrupt gasp escaping his lips. "You've noticed it too?!"
Aiden stared at his twin, his eyebrows furrowed. "What are you two talking about?" he asked, sounding confused.
"Jesse definitely has an accent that isn't a New York accent," Caden informed his twin, moving his hands around as he talked as if to express himself. "It's- it's really subtle, but it's definitely there," he stated.
Josh nodded in agreement. "We need to figure out what it is," he told him.
Caden agreed.
Jeremy chuckled. "Alright, you two, figure this out after rehearsals," he told them.
Josh and Caden nodded.
On another end of the rehearsal room
"Hey, Gabe," Kyler started as he stretched again.
Gabriel looked up at him. "Hm?"
"Why are you the youngest Junior, even though you were born in September?" Kyler asked.
Gabriel tilted his head to the side, a bit confused.
"What he means is how are you a Junior if you were born in September of the year all of the sophomores were born in?" Noah asked him.
"Oooh." Gabriel smiled as he switched his split. "I sort of skipped a year? Kind of? It was a misunderstanding that they had pushed me to the year ahead of mine - the one I was supposed to be in - and they didn't figure it out until a bit into the school year," he explained as he leaned over. "I was doing well in class and wasn't behind, so they decided to keep me in that year so I didn't leave all of my friends. That's why I'm a Junior and not a sophomore like I should be," he informed them.
The two boys nodded.
"That's weird," Kyler stated as he thought it over. "How wouldn't they have noticed?" he mumbled to himself.
Gabriel shrugged. "I was doing well, so they didn't question how young I looked until I went to the nurses to do one of those hearing tests they always had you do when you were younger and she saw my birthday on my file," he explained with a chuckle. "That was on very weird day. Lots of confusion," he commented.
Kyler nodded. "I'd bet."
"Do you like being in the year ahead?" Noah asked curiously. He had honestly never met someone who had technically skipped a year.
Gabriel shrugged. "I liked the musical they did my freshman year," he answered, "but I don't really think much of it. Other than the fact that I'm lots younger than the people in my classes and I'm the same age as the kids in the year after mine," he explained. "It's sort of scary knowing I'll end high school sooner though."
