Third Person POV

"Okay, why don't we go through the script?" Mr. Miller suggested. "We can go through half of it and then have a break and eat cookies." He smiled, looking at his younger son.

Emilio bit back a smile.

"He did not," Gabriel muttered.

Jesse nodded, looking at him. "He so did," he responded.

Emilio shrugged. "At least it's not just for Jesse and... uh- dad," he responded.

Mr. Miller rubbed the back of Emilio's arm lightly.

It took everything in Emilio not to flinch because he was so used to flinching.

"Alright," Mr. Miller started, "any questions?" he asks.

Josh raised his hand. "We get cookies?" he asked excitedly.

Multiple other boys looked at Mr. Miller in excitement and anticipation.

Mr. Miller chuckled. "If you don't act like five-year-olds unless it tells you to in the script, then yes," he responded.

Josh nodded quickly.

Emilio looked over at Jesse, holding back a giggle.

Jesse stifles a laugh.

Mr. Miller rolled his eyes at them. "You two can act like five-year-olds at times, too," he commented.

"That was never questioned," Jesse responded.

Mr. Miller chuckleed. "Alright, how about we start with Jesse and Kennedy for the Santa Fe Prologue," he suggested.

Jesse and Kennedy nodded.

"Don't worry, Kennedy," Emilio started, looking up at them, "he's really good at being annoyed." He smirked.

Emilio heard some laughs and some snickering.

Kennedy laughed. "I'm sure," she responded.

Jesse rolled his eyes. "And Emilio is really good at waking people up, and just waiting up early in general," he responded, crossing his arms.

Emilio shrugged. "I'm an early-bird."

Mateo smirked. "Like a Finch?" he asked.

"Do finches actually get up early?" Andrew asked him.

"Finches get up at dawn," Aurora and Lila answered in unison, the older sister sounding more annoyed than the younger.

Everyone looked at them.

"Our brother has a pet finch," Aurora informed them, shooting Reagan an exasperated look.

Reagan chuckled. She heard about this a lot.

Certain people nodded as everyone turned back to Kennedy and Jesse.

Kennedy and Jesse started.

Jesse spoke first when they started. "Where are you going?" he asked, purposely trying to sound tired. "Morning bell ain't rung yet. Go back to sleep," he told her.

Kennedy shook her head. "I wanna beat the other fellas to the street. I don't want anyone should see;" she frowned a bit, "I ain't been walking so good."

Jesse rolled his eyes. "Quit gripin'. You know how many other guys fake a limp for sympathy?" he asked. "That bum leg of yours is a gold mine," he told her.

Kennedy shook her head again. "Someone gets the idea that I can't make it on my own, they'll lock me up in the Refuge for good." She cringed. "Now, be a pal, Jack. Help me down," she told him.
