- Chapter 41 - I take any chance I can to use musical theatre lyric as the chapter title lol -
Warnings: All pretty fluffy lol. Don't think there's anything bad in this chapter, it's mainly just regular sibling teasing, fighting, and stuff lol
Third Person POVMateo shut the door behind him, turning around to walk into the kitchen. He stopped in his tracks.
Both of his sisters stood in front of him.
Mateo blinked. "Hello?"
"Hello." His eldest sister, Erin Solace, chuckled.
"Why are both of you standing in the foyer?" Mateo asked as he kicked off his shoes.
Erin shot him a look.
Mateo quickly put his shoes neatly in the cubbies by the front door.
Erin nodded in approval. She looked at Gianna. "I just got home. Someone came running over to me, covered in paint." She shot the middle child a look.
Gianna grinned cheekily. "You said you had soda," she responded, her hands behind her back.
Mateo laughed. "Leave it up to GG to only keep an eye on when we're getting home because of sugar," he said. "Not because she cares or anything."
Gianna rolled her eyes. "I very much do, in fact, care about you, and you of all people should know that, Mateo," she responded.
Mateo rolled his eyes fondly, knowing what she was thinking of. "Thank you, Gianna. You're the best, Gianna," he grumbled.
Gianna grinned smugly.
For years when they were younger, Gianna stopped Mateo from going and getting himself severely hurt, or even killed. (A/N, or worse; expelled.) Mateo was clumsy when he was younger—really clumsy— and if there wasn't a constant eye on him, he'd most likely injure himself.
Gianna once looked away for two seconds—or two minutes—and when she looked back, Mateo was gone. She ran to find him and caught him as he fell out of a tree. Both of them only ended up with a few bruises, instead of Mateo having a broken leg.
(Or arm.
Oh my Gods, did Elmer just make a DEH reference?
Did you just make a Percy Jackson reference?
I'm so proud of you for getting that!
I project far too much on my characters...)Gianna turned back to Erin. "So...?"
Erin chuckled and pulled a Pepsi out of her bag. She handed it to Gianna.
Gianna grinned. "Thank you, Erin!"
Erin chuckled and handed a Coco-cola bottle to Mateo.
Mateo matched Gianna's grin. "Thank you, Erin!" He mimicked her voice.
Gianna rolled her eyes. "You sound nothing like me."
Erin chuckled. "He actually does. It's pretty impressive," she said.
Gianna glared at her.
Mateo grinned smugly.
"Okay, dinner will be ready in like five minutes," Erin informed her siblings.
Her two younger siblings groaned. "Dinner? Can't we just have popcorn and candy?" they asked in unison.
"We can tell Mom that we had actual dinner," Gianna proposed.
Erin raised her eyebrows at her siblings, her eyes darkening.
Mateo gulped. "Dinner is in five! Okay, got it!" He quickly grabbed Gianna's wrist. "Come on, GG, let's go put your paints away!"
