Evelin was kneeled to the roof's floor. Her eyes staring at her hands without focus. The tears on her cheaks endless but there was no emotion in her face. Her heart aching for his touch, his hug... but knew he wouldn't give it to her anymore and that made her feel like her chest would explode from pain.
Why had he left? Had his feelings changed? Had did I do?! I'm so stupid! If I had kept myself in control this wouldn't have happened! He wouldn't have broken up with me.... I always thought what we had was different. Not a simple relationship but... something more, something deeper. I can't live without him but I guess I was a fool to think he did the same.
She felt the blood in her head pumping and she winced. A ringing annoyed her ears and an awful headache appeared. Lightning lightened the afternoon sky and she shrugged, waiting for the thunder to follow. Dark clouds concealed the blue sky and a loud thunder reaped the air. Evelin flinched. Normally she enjoyed watching the rain but she was scared of lightning and thunder storms.
When she was with Maison they used to move a lot and she was always eager to explore new areas. One time though when she was seven she got lost during a lightning storm and found refugee in a barn outside town. She spend the night in a corner shivering from fear. She didn't slept a wink, too afraid of the shadows created by the lightning.
Since then she never got out of the house during a storm like that but now... her mind and body were paralysed by the shock. Jason' s words echoing in her ears again and again. Looking up at the hidden sky a rain drop fell on her cheak and she closed her eyes enjoy the feeling as the rain fell on her like she was purified by it. The rain got stronger and stronger and soon she was soaked to the bone.
Finally her legs began moving and she stood up, entering the building. Her hair dripping as she passed the corridor, messing up the floor. Strains fell in front of her eyes blocking her vision, making her look like a ghost. She walked aimlessly through the floors trying to find her room but couldn't concern. Why had he left her? Her tears became dry and she discovered she had no more tears to stead.
"Evelin?" Someone questioned.
Turning around she saw Beck standing in an half opened door staring at her like he wasn't sure it was really her.
"What are you doing like that? Were you outside? Girl, you are freezing!" Beck touched her arm.
Evelin just starred at him passively without saying one word.
"Hey... you okay? "He moved closer to her face observing her. "Were you crying? What happened?"
"Nothing..." She whispered.
"You can't fool me. Something did happened. Tell me. Did the council's meeting went wrong?"
She shook her head remaining silent.
"Come in." Sighing he grabbed her hand and lead her in his room.
The room was nicely decorated with Marvel heroes' posters and photo frames of him, James and Anabeth. Clothes were everywhere in the floor, proof of his untidy man side.
"Um... sorry for the mess..." he picked up the clothes and threw them in his wardrobe. "I didn't expect anyone..."
Beck starred at her for a few seconds before getting lost in his messy wardrobe. A minute later he came back with a black sleeved shirt and some grey jogging trousers.
"They're not great but it's the smallest size I had."
"Why are you giving them to me?" She frowned.
"To change of course. If you stay in that outfit you'll catch a cold! " He shoved her towards the bathroom door. "Don't come out unless you wear dry clothes! "He closed the door giving her privacy to change.
