Karl stopped his car at the restaurant and came out, he looked at his watch, he was running late.
He closed the door and entered into the restaurant. Dizzy was happy to see the same handsome guy at yesterday night today again.
"Good morning"
"Morning, um where can I get cakes?"
"Hold on I will call her, another customer!" Dizzy said.
"Please have a seat she would soon attend to you"
Karl nodded and went to a table, he sat down waiting for like five minutes.
"Excuse me, I am running late"
"Rina! Hurry up! What are you busy doing?! The customer is waiting!" Karl felt so familiar hearing that name, he wasn't sure if it was his Rina or just a namesake.
"Am coming"
Rina collected her notepad and ran to Karl's table.
"What can I get for you sir?" She said.
He raised his gaze and met eyes with Rina. Rina was totally blind for a second when she saw him. Her pencil fell down immediately, she quickly bent down to pick it when Karl instantly picked it up for her.
"You dropped something" he told her.
Rina didn't take her eyes away from him. He was back and yet much more handsome. She missed him a lot but was mad at him for not coming back.
"Thank you" she slowly collected the pencil from him.
He looked at her badge and saw Tracy.
"Tracy?" He looked at her but she quickly covered her badge.
"I borrowed it"
"And you lended yours"
"Rina, another customer" dizzy spoke.
"Please What can I get you?" She returned back to her senses.
"You are working at a restaurant?" He ignored her question.
"P-please say you're order" Karl looked at her notepad.
"I came here to buy cake, already have breakfast but didn't have a morning coffee so I will have one cup of coffee"
"And what cake would you like?"
"What do you have?" Rina opened the menu and showed him.
He glanced at it and pointed the last one, not caring what it was, he believed that all cake was sweet.
"That's ten thousand dollars" she said to be sure that he didn't make a mistake.
"I know" he glanced at her.
"Okay, I will get your cake and coffee" she went immediately.
Karl watched her leave, he was sure he would totally see her when he came back but didn't expect her to work here.
She came back few moments later with a cup of coffee on a tray and another guy holding the ice cream cake in a pack.
She dropped them on the table.
"Here you go sir" she said.
Karl looked at the coffee and sipped it, he quickly spat it out in just one sip, everyone looked at him.
"What happened sir?" The guy who brought the cake asked.
"Is there sugar in this coffee?"
"Yes"
"Please take it back, who adds sugar this days, you didn't even ask me"
"We're so sorry" Rina said and collected the cup. She left with it and was back with a towel, Karl watched her as she cleaned the table, she didn't change at all, she still looked young as ever and beautiful. He noticed that her hair was a darker brown than before, he still remembers every single feature of her.
"Should we still get you another coffee?" Rina looked at him.
"No don't, get the cake" he stood up from his seat and went to the cashier.
"Ten thousand" he said.
After the payment Rina held the cake and followed him out.
He opened he car door for her to put it on the seat, she kept it on the seat and Karl closed the door after.
"I still don't know why you work here" Karl wore his glasses.
"This is just a temporary work, I will start working at the hospital very soon" she was about to leave when he interrupted her.
"Maya's birthday party is tonight, she would love it if you come......"
"But will you?" Rina gazed at him.
"Like I said Rina, maya would be happy if you come"
"What if I don't?"
"You're free to not come, it's your choice, by the way........" he leaned in beside her and whispered in her ear.
"You're still very attractive" he said and stood back.
"That was just a compliment" he said and opened his car door and drove off.
"Gosh he has changed a lot" Rina whispered to herself.
She then remembered, Maya's birthday, of course she would love to come not because of him but for Amaya, but she hasn't bought any gift.
"Rina, another customer, what are you doing? They are waiting" Rina came inside quickly and continued working.
Amaya was in her bedroom reading a magazine when her phone rang.
She looked at her phone and saw Rina, she almost forgot about her.
"Oh my God Rina is calling"
"Hello"
"Happy birthday maya"
"Thank you so much, I really miss you"
"Me too, how are you doing?"
"Am very fine, will you come to my birthday party?"
"Of course just for you"
"Thank you so much, I can't wait to see you tonight"
"Alright, can I ask what you would like for as a present?"
"Mhm, okay I have one and I will be very glad if you do it for me"
"Do it? Okay let me hear it"
"Tonight I want you to kiss Karl" Rina halted when she heard Amaya.
"What? Karl?"
"Mhm"
"Maya, you know how things are, I can't do that"
"He might look arrogant outside but he would love it when you kiss him"
"Amaya that's a really hard task"
"It's okay if you cannot do it, that's the only birthday present I want"
"Uhm Amaya let's talk later okay?"
"Okay, think about it" maya ended the call.
Rina put her phone down, kiss Karl? How did she expect her to kiss Karl? She would look like the one missing him not the one being missed. She went back to work brushing everything away from her mind.
