The next morning, Rina was with Karl when the door opened. It was Janet.
Rina stood up from the stool so Janet would sit.
"How're you feeling?" She asked.
"I'm better" he said and she smiled.
"Get well soon please" she said and he nodded.
"Will you eat apples?" She asked and he nodded.
"Here" she said opening the white bag she held.
She brought out a plastic plate of apples and gave him.
"Rina will you eat?" She asked.
"Hm?"
"Apples?" Janet asked again.
"Oh, no, thank you-"
"She would eat, don't mind her" Karl said interrupting Rina.
"Uhm...okay, I will leave you guys alone" Janet said as she got up from the stool and left.
Karl tapped the stool for her to sit and she slowly walked to it and sat.
"Your mood changed so quickly, why?" Karl said taking a bite of his apple.
"It's nothing. I was rude to Aunt before" she said looking down. Karl chuckled slightly and she looked at him.
"Is that why?" He asked and she nodded.
"It's okay, mom will forgive you, only if you apologize" he said and she was quiet. "Now please stop the long face"
Rina looked at the apples and collected a knife from the table and began cutting then bit by bit.
"Eat it this way" she said collecting the one he was eating.
He looked at her for some seconds and collected one.
"When do you wish to come home?" she asked with her hand under her chin.
"I don't know, am feeling better" he said with his eyes on the apple.
"Babe, your birthday is coming up soon" she said and he looked at her.
"You want me home before then?" He asked and she nodded.
"You know I wouldn't want to celebrate it so much" he said and she furrowed her brows.
"Why?" She asked.
"It's just a birthday, it's not a big deal" he said and she just looked at him.
"I don't care" she said and he looked at her.
"Then I won't get well soon" he said and she laughed.
"Don't be serious Karl" she said and was interrupted by the door opening. They looked and saw Mg and Davis.
"Hey bro" Mg said.
"How're you all doing?" Karl asked.
"Fine. How's your health?" Davis asked.
"I'm better, how's your side?" Karl asked.
"Good" Mg said.
Rina collected the apple plate and left the room. She then saw Janet and Maya discussing.
"Hey" she said and they both looked at her.
"Hey Rina" Maya smiled.
"What's the matter?" Janet asked.
"I just want to apologise for how rudely I spoke to you that day. I'm really sorry" she said and Janet just smiled.
"It's okay" she said, "you were not yourself that day, so I understand"
