Rina watched Karl go to the balcony.
She sat on the bed and turned on the TV. Meanwhile, her mind was still on him. Anytime he speaks to his dad, his mood changes.
"Why did you call?" Karl asked.
"I'm at the airport" Gerald said and Karl was quiet for a while.
"So why did you call?" He asked.
"Travelling out for good. I'm done here" he said and Karl sighed.
"I just want to hear you say dad one last time" Gerald said and Karl glanced at rina who was in the room.
"Look, I know I've been the worse father and I've realized that. Not even Maya wants to speak with me. Karl I've done things to you that no father on earth could have done to you and I'm sorry for that. I know it will be very difficult for you so can I hear just one last time. I promise I will never bother you again" he said and Karl was quiet.
"I've never told you anything about your marriage. It's the best. Am happy you didn't experience the same marriage like I and your mom's. I give you my blessings son. She's the best for you" Gerald said and Karl slowly sat on the floor.
" So please forgive me son. I'm sorry, I'm sorry-"
" Are you crying? " Karl asked.
" Dad, you know you were the worse thing that ever happened to me" Karl said. " But I don't know why I can't seem to forget you. I can hate you all I want, curse you, get angry around you, but if you were to die then it would be as if something great is leaving my life and I don't want that"
" You know why? Because someone has drawn me closer to you and that's Rina. She was the only one begging me to at least have a chance with you but I refused. We even argued not once but twice about this issue. And at the end you........ Dad you took away her child. You know that's not fair"
" I'm sorry" Gerald said.
" No dad, I don't need your sorry. You should apologize to her only then I can forgive you " he said.
"I don't think that will be possible son" Gerald said. " I don't think I will be able to speak to anyone after this conversation"
" What do you mean? " Karl asked.
" You're the last person I will speak to" Gerald said.
" Dad. What're you saying?"
" Tell Rina, I'm very sorry and am paying for my sins. I pray the next child you guys give birth to will be a huge blessing. Son, I'm very sorry" Gerald said and the call was ended.
" Dad? " Karl called and the call ended. He looked at the phone before getting up from the floor and entering the room.
" Karl? " Rina called. " Are you okay?" She asked as she went to him.
He sat down on the couch as he tried to call Gerald again.

" Karl, what's the matter? " She asked.
" It's nothing" he said before dropping his phone.
" Are you sure? " She asked.
"Yeah, I am" he said.
"Did he say anything mean to you again? Did something happen?" She asked and he looked at her quietly before answering.
"He apologized" he said and she was quiet.
"Really?"
"Yeah. He apologized to you and gave us his blessings" Karl said and Rina smiled a little.
