Rina opened the door holding a plate of cookies. She entered the room and found Karl pressing his phone.
"Hey....do you want cookies?" She asked and he looked at her.
"Yeah" he said stretching his hand for the cookie.
She smiled and walked and sat beside him. She gave him the plate and he began eating.
"So, how's the anniversary going?" Rina asked and Karl remained quiet with his eyes on his phone.
"Hm?" She asked again.
"It's fine. It's by six in the evening tomorrow" Karl said and she nodded.
"You would come right?" Karl asked looking at the cookies.
"Uhm" Rina said and Karl looked at her.
"Uhm, what?" He looked at her.
"It's just that, my mom is sick and....I have to be with her then" Rina said and Karl looked at her for some seconds before looking back at his cookies.
"Look... I would love to come but.... mom is really sick-"
"I understand" he said cutting her off.
"You understand?" She asked.
"No I don't" he said, "I can hire nurses to take care of her, then you can come with me"
"Karl..... listen to me. Mom wouldn't like it to be taken care of by nurses" Rina said and he just dropped the plate of cookies on the couch and stood up.
"Then what should we do?" He asked.
"Go alone..... It will be alright. I will watch from the broadcast"
"Do you know what this means to me? It's a rare thing Rina and you refuse to go with me?"
"I said I wish I could go with you, but my mom"
"It's okay...... I'm sorry about your mom anyways" he said before sitting back and eating his cookie.
"Karl" she called and he looked at her.
"Can you kiss me?" She asked.
"Sorry, am not in the mood" he said.
"Wow..........is it because of this?-"
"It's because of nothing Rina.......I don't feel like kissing you today, that's just it" he said and stood just before Rina held his hand.
"Lying really don't suit you babe" Rina said getting up and hanging her arms round his neck.
Karl looked at her before scoffing.
"Do I look like I'm lying?" He asked.
"Totally......you want to kiss me badly and I know it" she teased him.
"Do not think so, babe" he said before removing her hands from his neck and going to the bed.
"Come on, Is it because of the anniversary issue?" Rina asked looking at him sit on the bed.
"It's not an issue Rina and yes it's because of it"
"Please, understand me"
"I can't, okay.....and am fine with it anyways......all for Aunt. Stay with her, I Don't mind. Other friends will be there too" he said and rina just sighed and sat beside him.
"Sorry" she said.
"I'm alright Rina. Let's watch TV" he said before turning the TV on.
