Flora came back to the room and met Maya and Gg with Karl. The nurse was injecting Karl.
Karl looked at his arm as they injected him.
"Where's mom?" He asked Maya who was sitting on the stool. His voice was soar and weak.
"She's fine. She will see you tomorrow" Maya said and Karl's eyes moved to Gavin who standing behind Maya.
"Hey" he said and Gg smiled.
"How are you feeling?" He asked.
"I hate here" Karl said and Gavin chuckled.
"You will get soon better, then you can leave" Flora said and Karl looked at her.
"Really? When will that be?" He asked.
"I don't know. You just have to wait" Flora said and Karl scoffed. He looked at his wrist and then at the nurse.
"What happened to me?" He asked.
"You were in a coma, sir?" She said and he looked at the three of them.
"How long?" He asked.
"A week" Gavin said before the nurse could speak.
"Fuck" Karl whispered to himself.
"Are you feeling okay? Any pains?" Maya asked.
"Just my chest" he said.
"Yeah, they performed surgery on you" Flora said and Karl looked at her.
"Guess who did it?" Maya asked and he looked at her tiredly.
"A doctor" he said.
"Yeah, it's a doctor but guess who the person is" Maya said and Karl remained quiet.
"I don't get" he said and Maya sighed.
"It's Rina" Flora said and Karl looked at her.
"Where's she?" He asked.
"She's coming. She went somewhere" Flora said and Karl remained quiet.
Then there was a knock and they looked. Karl hoping it was Rina saw it was Mandy.
"Hey" she greeted and flora just fake smiled.
"How're you feeling?" She asked.
"I'm fine, you don't have to worry" he said.
"I brought you fruits" Mandy said dropping the bag on the table.
"Thank you" Karl said and Mandy nodded.
"You got us afraid Karl, like I was really scared and heartbroken" she said and flora sighed looking elsewhere.
"Do you know what happened?" Mandy asked.
"What happened when?" Karl asked.
"When-"
"Mandy, Karl needs to rest. It's not the time" Flora said and she looked at Flora before nodding.
"Can we leave him now?" Maya asked. "He has to rest a little"
She said and got up from the stool before they all left.
Karl sighed and looked at the nurse.
"What caused my surgery?" He asked.
"Bullet" she said and it was then he remembered what had happened. Him being shot and the next thing he saw was darkness.
"What's today's date?" He asked.
"Sixth of December" she said and he remained quiet.
He closed his eyes to have some nap but was tired of sleeping. He felt thirsty and hungry.
"Can I get-"
He was interrupted by the door squeak. When he looked he met Rina standing. She slowly entered the room and closed the door behind her.
"Hey" she said but he said nothing.
His eyes remained on her as she moved to the dispenser. He watched her pour water into the plastic cup. She walked to him and gave him the cup. He looked at the cup and collected it slowly before she sat down on the stool.
He gulped the water and gave her back the cup. He was still thirsty but he kept quiet.
"How're you?" She asked.
"Fine. You?" He asked back.
"You're the one injured, stop asking me" she said and he chuckled lightly.
"Are you hungry?" She asked and he nodded. She smiled before getting a plate from the bag she brought. He didn't even realize she brought something with her.
He waited for her to open the plate and watched her scoop a spoon and blow it.
He opened his mouth when she brought it to him and ate it. He was chewing silently while he watched her scoop another.
"Is it good?" She asked and he nodded.
She brought another spoon to his mouth again and he opened.
He ate a while now and was full.
"Water" he said and she opened the bottled water she bought and gave him.
He finished it and gave her the empty bottle.
"You sure are thirsty" she said as she went to dispose the empty plate and bottle.
When she was back, he watched her sit on the stool.
"How're you?" She asked again and he smiled.
"You guys worry too much" he said and she furrowed her brows.
"I won't argue with you today" she said and he laughed.
"I had a lot to go through because of you" she said. "Sleepless nights, stress......and you are laughing"
"I thought you said you wouldn't argue with me today?" He asked and she scoffed.
"Fine" he said touching her hair, "I'm sorry" he said.
"You owe me" she said looking away and he just smiled.
"What do you want?" He asked and she looked at him.
"Nothing" she said.
"That's a lie" he said before leaving her hair and then going to her hand.
"Tell me, what you want" he said.
"I want you to recover quickly. So we can go home" she said and he just looked at her.
"I heard you performed my surgery" he said and Rina sighed. Can't they shut their mouth for some time.
"Hope you didn't cry?" He asked and she just kept quiet.
"You know I wasn't gonna die-"
"But you almost did, the bullet was so close to your heart. If you were in my place you would know what I'm talking about. Why wouldn't I cry?" She asked and Karl just chuckled.
"I'm sorry" he said and Rina shook her head.
"It's not your fault. It's your dad" she said and he was quiet.
"You know, I really missed you" she said and he looked at their hands together.
"I promise, next time won't be like this" he said and she smiled.
She got up from the stool and pecked him on his lips.
"Get well soon" she said and he licked his lips.
"I will be back" she said and left the room.
