DESCRIPTION:

Raze thinks that you hate her. It just makes sense. Why else would you get so nervous around her and find some excuse to leave as quickly as possible? It takes Jett and Killjoy intervening to let her know that is very much not the case at all.

----

You were a little apprehensive about joining the VP. It was a lot of hard work and a lot of people. Once you got to know a lot of them, though, they were easy to get along with. You quickly made friends with a lot of the other agents given your sense of humour and quick wits. They found you interesting because you could be so quiet in one moment, but the second the time was right, you would crack the best joke. You were also great to have around on the field. Your personality was a natural morale booster. Even some of the more prickly agents didn't attempt to bother you, because they quickly realized that you could easily fight back if you needed to.

But the one agent that really caught your eye was Raze. She was all bright colours and loud noises, which wasn't completely the opposite of you, but pretty close. She was always joking around and could light up a room with her smile. You always loved getting assigned on missions with her because they were always a blast (literally).

Although, despite all that, you still couldn't shake the nervousness that overcame you anytime the two of you spoke. There was just something about her. The way she would smile, the way she talked and joked around... she was an absolute dream. You felt like the two of you got along so well too, but you still couldn't just talk to her about it. You wanted to confess to her so badly, but every time she was around, your face would flush and you would be reduced to a giggling, stuttering mess who would quickly excuse herself leaving a very confused Raze behind.

That's exactly what just happened.

Raze stares after you and sighs.

"I don't know what I'm doing wrong, man," she says, sitting down beside Killjoy and Jett. "They never stick around long, I'm starting to think they must really not like me or something."

Killjoy and Jett stare at her and then share a look with each other.

"Are you serious?" Jett asks.

"What?"

"She's head over heels for you," Jett says, amazed at how Raze could possibly be so oblivious.

Raze laughs, but the blush gives her away. "Nice one, Jett." She plays it off like she doesn't wish with every fibre of her being that it was true.

"She's being serious," Killjoy asserts. "You have to be blind not to see it."

Raze looks at the two of them incredulously. She thinks about every conversation that the two of you have had, and everything suddenly makes sense. She puts her head in her hands as Jett and Killjoy stifle a laugh at her realization.

"What do I do?" Raze asks from behind her palms.

"Ask her out, obviously."

That's easy for Killjoy to say. Raze might seem incredibly confident, but the truth was that when it came to stuff like this? She was helpless.

"Ughh, fine, we'll help you," Jett groans in mock annoyance, absolutely ecstatic at the opportunity to set the two of you up.

--

You're on your way to Raze's room. She invited you over earlier after training for a girl's night, and as much as you were so incredibly nervous about the idea of hanging out with her alone, you were excited.

"Come on in! Make yourself at home," Raze says as she opens the door for you. Her apartment is just as colourful as you expect it to be. There are paintings on the walls that you think she might have done herself. The living room is full of splashes of colour, a muted yellow couch with orange pillows and a pale green blanket folded on the arm.

She's finishing doing something in the kitchen while you sit down. The two of you start talking, and after a few minutes, it feels natural. You lose the nervousness you had and realize that the two of you just click.

Eventually, she's bringing you a plate of something.

"Enjoy!" She says, handing you a small plate with a piece of tres leches cake. She looks a little nervous, but it looks amazing, and it tastes amazing too.

"You made this?" You ask and she nods, obviously relieved that you liked it.

Most of the rest of the evening is the two of you talking. Raze turns on a movie at some point, but it's mostly background noise. The two of you gossip and talk about anything that comes to mind. "You know, I originally thought you didn't like me," she says at some point. She's smiling, so you know that is far from what she thinks now.

"What? Why?" You ask in disbelief. You don't know what you could have done to give that impression at all.

"It felt like you were avoiding me. Every time I tried to talk to you, it seemed like you were just waiting for the second you could escape me," she laughs.

"No! You're just really pretty and-" you blurt out without thinking and you feel your face flush. You're surprised when Raze smiles knowingly. "I just got nervous. Trust me, I really wanted to talk to you," you finish explaining.

"You think I'm pretty, huh?" Raze teases, and you giggle.

"I thought it was obvious."

Raze laughs. "I mean, apparently it was to everyone except me. Jett and Killjoy had to tell me how oblivious I was. But I'm sure glad that they did." She says, and you blush again.

"I'm glad they did too," you reply. You make a mental note to thank them later.

You end up moving closer to Raze on the couch. Silence finally falls over the two of you, focus returning to the movie on the TV. She wraps her arm around your shoulders at some point. It's the most comfortable you've felt in years. You're not sure when the two of you fall asleep, but you do know that this won't be the last time you fall asleep in her arms.
