When you first joined the VP, you were able to befriend most of the other agents fairly quickly. Some of them were friendlier than others, and some were just easier to approach. Understandably, Reyna was neither of those.
Well, not exactly. She wasn't mean or intentionally unfriendly, she was just incredibly intimidating. That isn't to say that you didn't want to talk to her.
Her tattoos immediately caught your eye the moment you first saw her. Funnily enough, one of the first impressions you got of her was when the two of you were on a mission together with a few other agents. Reyna was fast and lethal, and it was incredibly impressive. You noticed how her chest would glow, sometimes brighter than others, especially when she would kill a mirror agent. The glow would spread along her tattoos sometimes, and your eyes would follow the designs whenever you could.
You wanted to ask her about them. How did her radiant abilities interact with the sleek black ink designs on her arms that would occasionally turn that vibrant purple? Did her other arm hold similar markings? Did they extend across her back and chest?
You try to find a good time to talk to her. Always waiting a bit longer than you needed to after a mission, only to chicken out whenever the chance actually came.
It finally comes down to Reyna being the one to bring it up first.

"You waiting for someone?" She finally asks when she comes out of the locker rooms where everyone who had just gotten back had changed. Other than you two and the others that were now gone, there's no one else here. The lockers are connected to the training hall, which is where you're standing, but given the time, there won't be anyone in here for the rest of the day. Her hair is damp and she's wearing a baggy sweater and sweats. It's very different from her mission attire which fits tight against her skin.
You were waiting for someone. You had been waiting for her just like every other time that you had after a mission.
"Well?" She prompts after you remain silent for a moment. She's smirking, and you have a feeling that she knows you wanted to talk to her this whole time.
"Yes, I've been meaning to ask you about your tattoos actually," you answer, voice only a little uncertain. "They're really cool and I wanted to get a better look at them. If you wouldn't mind, that is." Her smile proves your theory that she's known since the beginning.
"Of course, I thought you would never ask," she teases. "Follow me." She begins to head toward one of the tables in the room. She sits down and gestures for you to do the same, before she's taking off the sweater, leaving her in only her bra. You blush but you don't question it. From the look on her face, she finds this very amusing.
You shift your focus to your initial concern, which is her tattoos.
You can now see how the design loops around the section of her chest that still glows faintly and continues up and around her neck, creating intricate designs around her back. You hear her laugh softly at the little gasp you let out.
You reach up a hand, before hesitating and laughing sheepishly.
"Sorry, can I feel?"
"Go ahead, cariño," she says with a smile, turning to give you a better view of her back.
When you drag your fingers across the tattoos, they feel warmer than the rest of her skin, and there is a steady, faint pulse that you can feel moving through the ink that seems to sync with the faint pulsing glow of her chest. She shifts, and suddenly the black shifts in hue to that bright pink and then the purple, rippling through the designs. It's breathtaking to watch.
"Wow," you breathe out and Reyna laughs.
"Does this sate your curiosity?" She asks as she shrugs the sweater back on.
"Yes, thank you. I've been trying to ask for a while."
"I know," she says, laughing as you blush. "You are not as subtle as you might think. Don't worry, it's endearing."
She stands up and you do the same.
"They light up like that during any... strenuous activity, perhaps I could show you another time." She winks and the weight of her implications takes a moment for you to process before your blush deepens. "Was nice finally getting to speak with you."
"Thank you," you say as she walks away. You hear her laugh again, a sound that you very much want to hear more of.
You might have thought Reyna was one of the scariest of the other agents at first but after this? You couldn't wait for the next chance you got to talk to her.
