Dear Future Soham,

Hi guys, Today I went to school after 2 whole long years and I want to tell you all about it. I really wasn't thinking too hard about it because I had a gut feeling that the school would not really open as they had said they would open it up prior to this, but failed to comply. Yesterday afternoon was when I got a hit of adrenaline just by thinking about the fact that I will go to school tomorrow, I hadn't paid the fee yet so I quickly did that, then I got out what I will wear, the uniform store doesn't have enough uniform hence children who don't have it, can wear anything...I went for a collared blue t-shirt, black jeans, my favourite belt, black socks and the new shoes I bought last night. I didn't have a pair of shoes except my Squash one's which started to feel a size small about 4 days ago, So thinking that It would not be a good idea to wear sandals, to make a good first impression, my dad and I quickly rushed to a close-by sports shop. They sell almost everything sports so we got a good pair of Squash shoes and a pair of every day/running shoes. The squash ones are red and look superb, whereas the everyday ones which I'll be wearing to school every day till we get the compulsory black shoes are brown and have this incredible look and feel. I went in my sandals to the shop and so naturally they gave me socks to try on the shoes and after coming back home I realised that I had forgotten to take them off, we had a good laugh about that. I was excited, some part of it was the fact that in-person school is going to be a reality again and some part of it was meeting so many old friends. Today morning I got up at 530, I was tired and slept till 6. Then I studied a bit, went to do some cycling and then got ready and off to school. I took a small bag because I didn't know what to take. Breakfast was some milk, dry fruits and bananas and dad dropped me off till the bus. Dad told me to take my phone, but I told him what's its point and didn't bring it along. My school opened upgrades slowly, one grade a day- today it was for grades IX and X. I am currently in grade 10th and let's talk about how school was. On the bus, I don't have anyone my age who's a good friend but there are some girls which I know properly. Then inside the campus, I got to my class and immediately met my friends. Sparsh and Soumya are the twins, been friends with them since 6th, I went with them for an outing so we weren't that different but another girl, Saanvi whom I also first met in 6th, I saw her today with them. Saanvi I would say is my first proper friend who is a girl. In 6th I had a fantastic time with her and seeing her today made me so happy straight up went for the hug. Something which I have never done to a girl I think, im growing I think. I met a couple more people, from previous grades- Deepanshu, Kaavya, Siddhi. Chatted up with some of my classmates I knew from previous classes- Pranay, Animesh, Prajwal. Met some new people- Ayushi. And Nachiket, that guy has been with me in the same class since 6th, yes he's my best friend. Now in 10th, we have individual benches, not the ones where 2 children sit together. Our class teacher, Mrs Sahana Shetty was a bit late to class and for the first 4 periods we had CTP(Class Teacher's Period), we got out time-table and some other information, Ma'am had made us personalised bookmarks with each child's name of it, a great gesture by her. She told us to write an adjective starting with the first letter of our names, I thought of sexy. Hehe. In the short break I went out with my classmates whom I knew to check out some of the new infrastructures and when I came back Sparsh and Soumya jumped up on me saying I betrayed them. 5th we had Math period, our CT is our math teacher so she taught us some of that. We had 2 periods of Chemistry followed by a lunch break followed by a period of Bio and one of Hindi. In chemistry the maam had us introduce ourselves in front of the class, because of the drama classes I have a loud voice. When I said hey guys I'm Soham, there was a round of applause for how loud I was, Ma'am said, "'Thank you Soham for setting the bar" as most of the other students were really low. She heard it loud and clear and will not forget my name now. During lunch break I had some paneer, Nachiket told the gang- Soumya, Sparsh, Saanvi, Animesh and 3-4 more about it and they ran to my class for a bit, unfortunately for them my tiffin was spick and span by then. Bio was really really boring. Maybe because it was after eating or maybe because the teacher screwed that up. The last one was Hindi; online when the teacher taught us I thought she'd be a great ma'am but in class today it was the opposite for some reason...so Hindi is not what I presumed it would be. Then we went to Sparsh- Soumya - Saanvi's class, we would walk till the bus yeard together. Then I said byes got onto the bus, got down to roam, saw some people chatted got back up and the bus took 3347857 years to get off the campus and it was so hot, I am sure my skin coloured jumped a shade to the dark side. Then on the bus, we were talking, one of the girls,  Sachi is in my class and one guy who lives next to our apartment is also in my class. I came home and told mom about the day. Then I felt really tired. But I started studying, chemistry from the Vidyamandir recordings of lectures. Made my timetable neatly wrote down some other stuff and then remembered about my Wattpad writings that I had started a year ago. I read what I had done today in 2021 and it inspired me to write for today. The first day of 10th.
