Freddy's yellow eyes opened when he heard a knock on the van door. He glanced over to Gregory, noticing the boy to still be sound asleep. The knocking sounded a second time, the bear then pulling back a blind to peer out the window. It was Bill. He stood just outside, already dressed for the day—his badge hooked on his belt. Checking in internal clock, Freddy took note of the early hour. It was 6AM. Doing his best to not jostle the van too much and thus waking a still sleeping Gregory, Freddy quietly made his way out of the van. He then just as quietly closed the door behind himself. "Good morning, Bill."

"Morning. I didn't wake the kid, did I?" Freddy shook his head 'no'. "Good." Bill replied with a small nod, stuffing his hands in his jean pockets. "May I ask why you are out here so early?" The bear wondered, keeping his tone low. "Shift starts in forty-five minutes, and I wanted to talk with you before I left." Bill explained. "I have some questions."

"Oh, I see..." Freddy hummed, gaze falling a little. "First, I've gotta ask. Not sure how this would be the case, but are you stolen property?" At that, the animatronic quickly looked back up to Bill. "No, I am not stolen!" The man raised an eyebrow, looking somewhat doubtful. "I left the Pizzaplex so I could keep Gregory safe. He has no one to take care of him." Pulling his hands from his pockets, Bill crossed his arms and leaned against the van. "How do you know that?"

"I..." Freddy paused, trying to think for a moment. Bill sighed a little. "Look, why don't you start from the beginning?" He suggested. With a nod of agreement, the bear was then asked, "Where'd Gregory come from? How'd you two end up together?" The man questioned. "I first found Gregory in the Pizzaplex, because he had snuck into the building just before closing. He then climbed into my stomach hatch to hide from the security guard—Vanessa."

"That doesn't sound safe." Bill commented. "My stomach hatch was used mainly to transport piñatas and large birthday cakes, which was why he was able to fit." A small, almost subtle chuckle sounded from Freddy's voice box. "Though, Gregory is a bit too big to fit anymore." Bill hummed, before gesturing for the bear the continue. "I initially promised to help Gregory back to the exit of the Pizzaplex before closing, but we arrived too late. He was then stuck until opening the following morning."

"So, you sorta supervised the kid in the meantime?" Freddy nodded, elaborating with, "I also kept him safe." That piqued Bill's curiosity even more. "What's so dangerous about a kids' establishment at night?" He asked. "Other than not wanting Gregory to get into any dangerous equipment in the employee areas, I also had to keep him safe from my friend—the other animatronics." Freddy explained. "They were all acting strange that night, as though they wanted to capture Gregory."

"That is strange." Bill agreed. "At one point, the security guard had gotten Gregory and locked him in the Lost and Found room. Though, Gregory managed to escape it." Freddy told. "Who's the security guard? Was it the lady from yesterday?" The bear nodded in confirmation. "That was Vanessa. She explained how she tried to call the authorities to report Gregory, but there were no records of him." A hand slowly game up to Bill's stubbled chin in thought, an idea coming to his mind. "She called the police?"

"Yes... Or, I think she did? She did not say directly." Freddy answered, realizing he didn't even know who Vanessa had called or contacted that night. "How long ago was this again?" Bill asked. "September the eight, around three O' clock in the morning." Freddy answered, using his memory logs to answer precisely. The man took a brief look at his phone's display. "Huh. Exactly a month ago." He hummed. "Alright, how about when morning rolled around. What happened to make you leave on your own?"

"Gregory asked me to." Freddy answered, simply. "I will admit, we grew attached to one another during our brief time together, and I knew that I would not be able to help myself from worrying about Gregory if he were to leave on his own." He explained. "How'd you do it? I would assume there's a failsafe to keep to robots from leaving the building, right?"

"There is. The batteries Fazbear Entertainment uses for it's animatronics are required to be recharged at a specialty recharge station every hour, which can only be found in the Pizzaplex. We were able to replace my battery with a car battery from one of the company vans that we... borrowed." Bill nodded, trying to process everything being told to him. "So then, I guess this Vanessa lady is after you both to get you back to the 'plex, if I understand this right?"

"I believe so." Freddy answered, eyes darting off for a moment as a curious thought came to him. "However..." Bill leaned forward a bit to catch his gaze. "'However' what?" Freddy continued. "The Pizzaplex has a generous stock of endoskeletons and animatronic shells." Bill seemed to understand what he was implying. "Which means they could just slap another shell of you on another robot, and nobody would care.... So why come after you?"

"I... do not know." Freddy confessed, sounding truly confused. Shaking his head a little, Bill looked to his watch. "Well, that'll do for now. I've gotta get going for my shift. Thank you for answering my questions, Freddy." The animatronic nodded. "Of course." The man reached into his pocket, pulling out a key. "Here's the spare key for when the kid wakes up. Feel free to help yourselves to the kitchen and bathroom. I'll be back before dinner—unless any emergencies come up, that is."

"Thank you, Bill." Freddy thanked, taking the key from the man. With a nod, Bill answered, "Don't mention it. I'll see you later, and I think Kurtis'll make a round later on too." Then, he took his leave. Freddy smiled a little, before returning to Gregory's side.
