Chapter 5: Improvise!

Team: The Losers

They were all looking at Loser for advice, unsure what to do. Suddenly, they heard a vocaloid voice above them, and saw a pink ball of fluff. They recognized her and gave chase, trying to get her down. Needle almost got her, but then they abruptly fell down a hole. All the team tried to climb out individually, but nobody could reach the top. 

"Ugh, why didn't we look better? We could've seen this coming!"

It's ok Coiny, we'll get out of here eventually!" reassured Loser, with a confident smile on his face. Coiny looked at his face and could see the flicker of unsureness in his eyes. He breathed in and thought about what to do. Then, Pin spoke up. "Why don't we stack on top of each other? We will be taller that way." Everyone believed that it was an ingenious idea, and started climbing, with the heaviest on bottom and lightest on top. Once everybody climbed out, they ran back to base and were met with an unfortunate sight. Due to being stuck in a hole, their base had been up for grabs. And that's exactly what people did. All of their food was gone, and there was a shortage in weapons. Except, they didn't take the light-yellow ball right in the middle of the chest. Nobody knew what it did, but when they touched it, they felt powerful. Like it was a source of adrenaline or something. They decided to send a hunting group out, consisting of Eggy, Clock, and Needle.

Team: Iance

Most teams bickered and argued, but this one definitely did that the most. The alliance argued with those outside of it, treating them like they were nothing. While Pencil, Match, Ruby, and Bubble were given first pick of food, the others had to wait until they were done. This got them infuriated and started fighting. This led to Pencil's end getting dulled and Fanny's head hanging off her body. In the end, they finally agreed to go out and kill other contestants rather than stay put. Right now, they were in Team Ice Cube's territory but not noticed yet. It was quite peaceful, and they managed to snag some berries off of a nearby bush. In fact, they were having conversations, seemingly forgetting what they came to do. Until they heard a rustling coming from the tree ahead. They all stopped dead in their tracks; Snowball finally stepped ahead holding a sharp stick. He stuck it in the leaves and heard a yelp. They jumped and saw something fall down. It was Bracelety, but she was different in their eyes. Her eyes were wide, and she had a color similar to some members' horror. Everyone looked at each other for a while, holding eye contact, refusing to look away.

Bracelety(?)

She was erratic, twitching and tapping trees, smelling for food. She finally heard voices, and hid in a tree, showing no side of ever being there. It stayed like that for a little while, until something poked her in the side. She gave a bark of pain and rubbed where it hurt. Then, she came down snarling, baring her teeth. It looked familiar to her, but it was still blurry. She kept looking at them, trying to remember. Then she got hit in the side of her face, falling to the ground. She heard a voice, "Fanny! Are you ok?" She couldn't concentrate and leapt to the first thing she could make out. It was somebody small but was trying to get her off using fists and weapons. She bled out a weird, black substance, but kept snapping her teeth, trying to find (flesh?). It continued like this for a little while, until she got a hold of an arm, she bit into it fiercely, earning a yell of agony. Bracelety could tell that they were trying to pull her off, but it didn't matter. All that mattered was that this person joined them, form a stronger kind. Then, they went limp, and she leapt off, trying to get more. Unfortunately for her, nobody remained except for some berries scattered.

Marker

How long has it been? 3 days? Marker had been left alone, with two of his teammates trying to find a lost one. He looked to his right, he had depleted a quarter of his food supply and sharpened his weapons until touching the blades slightly caused a cut. Finally, he decided it wasn't worth sitting around doing nothing and started packing up. He got some weapons and half of his food supply. He put them all in a pack and started walking towards where he last remembered Foldy and Stapy going. It was a long walk, but then he got to the border. He looked over, and could see footprints and a long, thin mark similar to Stapy's body shape. Sighing, he walked over and started being sneakier.

Team: Ice Cube

After Gelatin and Naily came back with their news, they doubled their senses and were more careful. Only one person went out to get food now, and two people went out to find stray contestants. It was quite mundane, with every day being the same. Until Bomby rushed out, huffing and panting. Everybody rushed out and welcomed him with concern. He explained that there was a whole other team in their territory, and everyone started getting their weapons. They asked Bomby where they were located, and he led them there. They stealthily approached, hiding behind trees and observing the team. It looked like Iance, as they recognized Pencil and Fanny. All of them had a blank look, like they saw something and couldn't unsee it. Team Ice Cube looked at each other bewildered, but Barf Bag readied her knife. She threw it into Bubble, causing her to pop. This seemed to awake the team and they all ran in the same direction. Team Ice Cube gave chase to them but could see them slowing down fast. After only minutes, Fanny fell to the floor. She looked up at them, a look of disgust and hatred filled her eyes. She yelled,

"I hate that I'm tired! I hate that we lost more members! I hate that I fell! I hate that... That..."

She couldn't talk anymore, and her mouth was slightly open. She gritted her teeth and was about to say another hateful phrase before Firey Jr. jumped onto her and started a fire. Fanny only yelled loudly, except it was a mix of hate and pain. Team Ice Cube just looked on as she slowly burned, her yells dying down. Soon, nothing but ashes were left, and the group looked around for the rest of the team. However, Iance was already back on their territory.

Author's Note: This chapter was longer than the others, at 1000+ words! Had to make Fanny's death dramatic, I love her character so much. So yeah, another person got infected. And no, I'm not going to say who it is but it's kind of obvious if you really read.
