Chapter 19: What Do You Mean?

Fries confronts Lightning.

When Fries arrived, he was in a room that was red with yellow stripes. He looked around, and saw a red bed, with a fry recovery center. He massaged his head, as it was throbbing in pain. He stood up and walked outside his room. After he closed his door, he walked out into the kitchen. He saw Gelatin eating jelly, and he waved hi. 

"Hey Fries!"

"Hi Gelatin..."

"You got infected too?"

"What? What are you talking about?"

"Oh, you didn't know? The reason we're here is because we got infected.

"...I'm still not following."

"Ok, did you get bitten before you died by somebody was redder than usual?"

"Yeah?"

"They infected you, and your body is wondering around now, controlled by Evil Leafy."

"Wait, by Evil Leafy? How do you know all this?"

"Leafy explained it to me! Plus, didn't you see Evil Leafy when you got teleported to your mind space?"

Fries shook his head; he didn't remember. Maybe he did? All he knows is that he got bitten by Lightning, and that's why he's here. He was starting to get tired and walked back to his room. He was rubbing his eyes when he bumped into somebody. Fries fell to the floor, "Ow!" He rubbed his backside, and heard somebody apologize.

" Oh no, sorry Fries!"

"It's no problem...Wait, Lightning?!"

"Uh, yeah?"

"You killed me!" 

"Um, what are you talking about? I don't remember meeting you in the challenge."

"You were infected, and you struck me with your lightning!"

"That wasn't me, it was somebody else."

"Yeah, Evil Leafy I know. You still couldn't have tried to stop yourself though?"

"Is that even possible? You try to."

Lightning was starting to get annoyed. Fries was accusing them of murder, which, knowing Evil Leafy, probably happened. He had already told him that it wasn't his fault, but he was just too keen on him being at fault. He watched as Fries was just focusing really hard. 

*Sigh*

"I guess you're right Lightning, but how did you even get infected?"

"The same way you did? Bracelety bit me and now I'm here."

Fries started getting embarrassed. Of course, he got bit! That's why he was here. He didn't want to talk to Lightning anymore, because one, he didn't want to embarrass himself even more, and two, he needed sleep.

"Ok, well, see you around goodbye Lightning."

"Yeah, See Ya."

Fries was back in his room, on the floor. He was tired and wanted to sleep. However, he kept thinking about his team. Where were they now? Are they winning? Who's leading them? In his little group, only Eraser and Puffball remained, so could they survive? Also, the other half of his team, how on Earth are they doing? He shut his eyes closed, but it didn't help. He also thought about the mystery surrounding where he was. Could he get out? What if his body dies, and it respawns with Evil Leafy still in there while he was stuck here? Too many questions he knew would never be answered.
