Chapter 9: Scattered...

Match and Ruby

Ruby started opening her eyes, confused as to where she was. 

"Like, finally! You're like, awake Ruby."

"M-Match? Where are we?"

"I like, have no clue. But I know it's not in our like, area."

Groaning, Ruby stood up with the help of Match, and they started observing their surroundings. Their area had a lot of trees, a forest. However, this territory had more open land. It was strange at first, but not too different at the same time. Ruby was curious, but Match leaned more to the cautious side. For example, when Ruby saw a plump rabbit caught in a snare, she thought of it as a perfect meal. Match however, thought it was a trap set by the other team. After moments of arguing, they decided to leave it alone, as there were other animals to eat. However, after hours of searching, they found nothing.

"Geez Match, you should've let me get that rabbit! We could be eating that right now..."

"Well like, sorry for being careful! You know, that could've been poisoned."

"It was out in the open, and it looked like it was caught only minutes before."

Still! We could like, never know."

Not wanting to argue, Ruby quietly went ahead, when she heard rustling. She signaled to Match to stop, and Match did so. She stepped closer and saw a squirrel, digging up its acorns. She kept creeping closer, but unfortunately, the moonlight reflected her shine. This alerted the squirrel about Ruby, and it took off. 

"Oh, come on! The worst time to be shiny."

"It's like, ok Ruby! I'll hunt next time since I can't like, reflect."

Agreeing on that, Match took the lead for the rest of the night, and ended up getting some rabbits, although not as big as the one caught. Noticing this, Ruby made a comment.

"Hmmm, if only it was as big as the one rabbit that we saw and then left behind..."

"Oh like, shut up Ruby! This is perfectly fine!"

Eventually, they found a stream and slept near there. Ruby caught a few fish, and that was their breakfast for tomorrow.

Foldy, Marker, Stapy, Yellow Face

"Nice! It's still okay after the whole night."

Foldy just took out a large rabbit from the trap, and it remained unscathed from any predators. She would've gotten it sooner but was too lazy to. She ran back to her base and showed her teammates the large catch. They applauded, and Foldy gave it to Stapy to skin. He went into a separate room to do so, leaving YF, Marker, and Foldy to converse. They talked about what they should do, and decided it was time they met with their other teammates, Puffball, Eraser, Fries, and Bell. Although, they did not know that Bell had passed. However, they had no idea where they could possibly be. They could be in any territory, and they had no idea. Finally, they settled with just having 2 people go out and actively search. Eventually, Stapy came back, and they explained to him their plan. Giving Foldy a shoulder hug, he said,

"Me and Foldy went out as a duo last time, so it should be your guys' turn."

"BUT WHAT IF I GET CAUGHT IN A TRAP AGAIN??!"

"Don't worry Yellow Face, I will protect you."

"Yeah, what Marker said. Besides, even if you get caught in a trap Yellow Face, Marker can just get you out of it!"
