Pen opened his eyes and groaned. He sat up, rubbing his head. He felt a throbbing pain in his arm and held it. He looked around and saw Bottle sitting in the bed next to him, making some kind of origami. She noticed his stare and waved.

"Hey Pen! Are you ok? You took a pretty bad blow."

"What? Uh, yeah. I'm fine. It wasn't that bad."

"Are you sure? There was a lot of ink when it hit you..."

"Don't worry! I'm fine Bottle. How are you? I know you didn't have the best time either."

"Well, I feel fine. But..."

"But?"

"We... Ran out of glue."

"What?! Does that mean-"

"Yeah. I'm good though! We managed to glue back some pieces, but I'm probably not going to last much longer."

"They already glued you back though!"

"That's true, but I can barely move now. If I walk long enough, all the pieces that didn't get glued will fall apart. And I need them to survive Pen."

It was silent for a while. Pen looked down at his bed. He felt guilt surrounding him. He gripped his sheets and said quietly,

"So, I saved you for nothing?"

"What? No, you didn't! I'm still alive!"

"But... You're still going to die."

"At least I'm living longer than if you didn't."

"But... I took an arrow for it! I lost ink for that, and you're just going to die anyways!"

He yelled with an expression of both anger and hurt and slammed his fist down on the bed, earning himself a loud thud. Bottle jumped back from the loud noise, looking on as Pen was breathing heavily. Pen unclenched his fist and slumped. Bottle dropped her origami and walked towards Pen's bed, putting her hand over Pen's. He looked at her with eyes forming tears. He had a light pink tint on his cheek as she gave him a gentle smile. They stayed like that, with the occasional sniff from Pen. Eventually, he had a frantic look and pulled his hand away. He looked at his hand, holding it with a tender look. He mumbled what seemed like a thanks and she gave him a wide smile. They continued to have conversation, and Pen soon returned to his normal self.

Black Hole was outside in the living room, talking to Tree about what happened last time. They were both worried, and recent events didn't help either.
For some reason, Tree was slowly, fading? It started from the top of his head. It was transparent, and the rest of his body surrounding it was slowly disappearing too. It almost reached the bottom of his leaves in 4 hours. This meant that he had about the rest of the day until he was fully gone. They tried to stop it by putting tape of something, but it just faded with it. He could still talk because it seemed to go down instead of across. Although the end of his left eye was blurred. Black Hole asked if he something weird happened, and Tree didn't recall anything. Except for a weird snapping noise that caused him to wake up. They both assumed that was what caused it, but it didn't really do anything. They knew why it happened, but that wasn't going to stop it FROM happening. Black Hole wanted time to himself and said goodbye to Tree. He waved as a response and walked to Pen and Bottle's room. He hadn't seen the two of them since he patched them up yesterday, hopefully they were ok.
