*Chapter 37: Doubts

David & Coiny

"Ok, so here's the plan,"

Coiny was talking to David, who seemed to get what he was talking about. The both of them were the only objects left on their respective teams and decided to work together in order to win. They knew that eventually they would have to separate, but it was better right now to work together. Right now, they were on Iance territory and had spotted Flower in her home. She seemed to be alone, and Coiny had a plan. He would knock on her door, pretending to form an alliance, and David would be waiting on her roof, ready to drop down when Coiny gave the signal. Although more people would help the group, Flower was injured. She also wasn't liked by the two of them, and both agreed she was more useful dead than alive. Coiny pointed to where David needed to go and he rushed over there, careful not to make a sound. He looked down at Coiny, who gave him a thumbs up and went to Iance's front door. David waited patiently as he watched Coiny strike up a conversation with Flower. It seemed to be going well, as they both were talking for a long time. After what seemed like a while, Coiny raised his arms and pointed to the sky. The signal. David readied his knife and jumped down, landing on Flower. She landed face first into the dirt, yelling and waving her arms. David was waiting for an opportunity since her flailing was blocking any vital spots to hit. After a few moments, she stopped moving, and yelled to Coiny.

"Hey! Help me! I thought you wanted to team up!"

"Oh, about that... I lied."

"What?! Does that mean-"

"Yep! Me and David over here planned this. I didn't expect this to go that well."

"You little-"

She didn't get to finish her sentence as David stabbed right in her head, impaling and killing her. She stopped moving, and David took his knife out of her head. They fist bumped and went into the building. They looked around and took the food. Although they still had plenty of food, it never hurt to have more. David looked at Coiny with an interested look. David hadn't exactly been the most liked contestant, in fact, one contestant has tried to murder him multiple times. Even though Coiny had already told him why he chose him, he still felt that there was more to it. If his thinking was like that, they would've still taken Flower in. Coiny already knew that David wasn't the sharpest tool in the shed, as he met him while his leg was stuck in his own trap. Nonetheless though, he still formed an alliance with him. Flower's leg wouldn't set them back that far, and the other reason they didn't was because he disliked Flower. He and Coiny hadn't even interacted until that point! (Guys, I literally looked at the wiki. They have no interactions between each other that was listed.) He thought about it for a long time, resulting in not collecting a lot of stuff, which Coiny questioned later once they left.

"Woo! We sure got a lot of stuff huh? I mean, my bag is super heavy and big. Your bag is- Wait, why is it so small? Did you even collect anything?"

"..."

"Come on dude, I didn't form an alliance just for me to carry us! Maybe we shouldn't do this."

"Aw seriously?"

"Nah! Just messing with ya! I don't mind it but let me put some stuff in your bag for it to be more equal!"

"Wait, wait, Teardrop is gone?!"

Saw started panicking. Her, Gaty, Ice Cube, and Dora were back in the base, and Book had just announced Teardrop's disappearance. She looked around at her teammates. Ice Cube had the same horror on her face, Dora looked, strangely calm, and Gaty had a look of carelessness.

"Book, are you SURE she didn't go hunting? You know how TD is."

"M-maybe, but then why wouldn't she tell anybody?"

"Because she can't?"

"Not like that! Wouldn't she tap somebody or something? She knows what's going on! Did Blocky not mean anything to her?"

"Look Book, you might not trust Teardrop, but I do. She's pretty strong, and I think she's fine. If she isn't back by tomorrow, then I'll start thinking. For now, let's just rest, I'm too tired for this."

"B-but! What if she's in danger? You never know-"

"Book."

Book stopped talking and looked at Ice Cube. She had just spoken to her, in forever! She was glad but knew that it wasn't for a good reason."

"This is your problem! You overthink the situation every time! Teardrop is probably fine, and you're overreacting again!"

"No! Teardrop disappeared without a trace, and nobody knows where she is!"

"Um guys? Maybe we should-"

"Didn't you listen to Gaty? She's probably hunting, you know she enjoys it."

"She didn't tell anyone though!"

"Ugh, GUYS!"

Everybody stopped talking and paid attention to Saw. Now with all eyes on her, she got nervous. She knew their attention wouldn't last long, so she took a gulp and said,

"Maybe Book is right. Every time Teardrop leaves, she usually tells Taco or Lollipop, and we know they were both busy. She didn't tell any of us either right? (Everybody shakes their head) So maybe, Book has a point. However, Gaty might have a point too. We should do something, but not put all our effort into it, just in case she IS overreacting."

Everybody was silent. Gaty glared at Book, who looked away nervously. Sighing, Gaty nodded her head. She knew Saw had a point and walked over to her room. Now with fewer people, the silence only lingered. Saw was tired out, and everybody was. Except for a certain ice cube and human... She looked at Dora and Ice Cube, who seemed pretty awake compared to the rest of them.

"Ice Cube! Dora! You don't seem tired, could you go look for Teardrop? You don't have to go far, just look around for any sign of her."

Both nodded and headed out, waving hi to Taco and Lollipop as they entered. Both were confused but Saw explained the situation. The rest of the team went to sleep, and Dora with Ice Cube started looking for their missing teammate.

Ice Cube wandered around the trees with Dora close behind her. She had a spear in her teeth, since she couldn't exactly hold it with her legs while walking. They had walked a good distance from the base, but they could still see the lights from it. She looked back at it, wishing she wasn't chosen for this. While Ice Cube didn't admit this to the others, she secretly had a fear of the dark. She was about to tell Dora to walk back when she heard her speaking her language again. She seemed to be signaling to Ice Cube "Come over here!" Cautiously, Ice Cube walked over, biting into the spear in case it was something. Luckily though, it was just a knife. Wait, a knife out here? She looked closer at it and saw Teardrop's initial carved into it. She must've dropped it! But how? Teardrop wasn't exactly weak and could easily break Ice Cube if she wanted to. So how did she manage to lose a knife? She heard a rustle and hid behind Dora instinctively. Dora was chattering, and Ice Cube told her to be quiet. She did this, and they stood in the silence, hearing the rustle again and again. She was getting more scared, as the sound was getting louder and louder. After a while, she heard footsteps and stepped out from behind Dora. Surprised, Ice Cube asked,

"Teardrop? Are you ok?"

Author's Note: Want to know a fun fact? Around chapter 14-15, I started using a wheel to find out what team to write about since I had no idea which team to choose. But for this chapter, I decided to write about the teams I wanted to. You can imagine my surprise for chapter 29, which was originally going to be about how ABNTT was going to ambush Pin and Coiny, which would happen in the next chapter that featured either of them. However, the wheel must've wanted me to write this out now since it landed on the duo.
