Chapter 15: Noticed Now

APE

4 and X have noticed Taco and Blocky's disappearance. 

X was tense; 4 had just noticed that two of the contestants escaped, and now was trying to find them. They hope 4 wouldn't find out it was X's fault, since he didn't check the tiles. However, 4 seemed much more invested in where they were compared to how they exited. X looked at 4's panel. He was in a swarm of contestant links, trying to find any that belonged to Blocky and Taco. After what seemed like hours, they found Blocky's. 4 tapped on it quickly, and it showed that he was infected. 4 grimaced,

'Hehe, little prick deserves it."

"Yeah, but what about the other one?"

"That's right, thanks for reminding me."

4 got off of Blocky and continued searching. While they were trying to play a calm mood, they were extremely agitated. Earlier that day, they found out that they got out of their cubes and were going to search and take them back. They knew that X was behind this, who else is that incompetent? 4 also knew that punishing them wouldn't get them anywhere and decided to deal with that later. They found Taco's link and tapped on it. It showed that she was currently on BLEH's territory. 4 was about to take them but X stopped them. They then explained that if she stays, it will add more drama and make it more entertaining. 4 tried to object but couldn't see something wrong. X was right, but 4 retaliated with, 

"What about the other eliminated contestants? Can they just rejoin?"

"No, but just let this one slide. I will fix everyone else's."

4 thought about this for a very long time after X said this. On one hand, they could just do that. On the other, what if somebody else escapes while 4 is distracted? X is known to mess up things, but they surely they wouldn't mess up again so soon? Finally, 4 decided. 

"Ok X, but now go fix the tiles! We can't let anybody else escape."

X was already leaving, waving their hand in response of hearing. They were relieved that 4 could trust them. They arrived at the TPOT area first, seeing that the majority of deaths were from that. The room was a green similar to 2's hue. The cubes lined the walls, stacked on each other. The dead contestants were arranged in the order they died. Because of this, they went to the cell of the first dead contestant. They approached T. V's cell and used his powers to shut him down momentarily. They went to the spot they saw the weak tile. Quickly, X patched it up with a specific power that reinforced it. Then, they woke up T. V and moved on. One after another they managed to fix the glitched spot in all of them. They were about to leave when they heard a drum roll. X turned around to see Basketball, looking defeated. She looked up at X, asking,

"Did I lose?"

Team: A Better Name Than That!

They were waiting for Basketball to return.

Grassy was sitting around, looking at 8-ball study the tracker. He was going to look at it with him, but then 8-ball yelled. This surprised Grassy, and he stopped. Tennis ball and Golf ball came in soon after. Grassy asked him what's wrong and said emotionally,

"Basketball just died!"

8-ball couldn't believe it. His best friend just died! He was fuming, and literal fumes came out of him. This caused his teammates to choke on it, but he didn't care. He wanted revenge for her. There was a problem with this though. He had no idea how she died. She wasn't in their territory at the time, and noticed she died thanks to the side bar which showed them their health. However, the territory surrounding the two were Free Food and the Losers. Free Food had attacked them once, so Basketball wouldn't go there. She had to have been noticed on the Losers and ambushed. He said this to the others, and Golf ball asked,

"So? It's not like knowing her murderer is going to bring her back."

"But shouldn't we avenge her and attack?"

"8-ball, we can't go out there. We are all lacking some limbs. Except Grassy, but he's Grassy. (Hey! Grassy heard that!)"

"Yeah, Golf ball is right 8-ball. Going there is asking for a death sentence. I know you want revenge, but it's too risky."

Tennis ball was trying to keep his voice from shaking. He wanted vengeance too, but he was also sensible. No matter how you look at it, they would lose. Unless the Losers somehow were really bad at fighting. They couldn't hold anything while running! This made them pretty vulnerable. Luckily, him and Golf ball created a cannon to shoot any opposing teams that would go near their base. He looked at 8-ball. His face was annoyed, and he rolled into another room. Golf ball called Tennis ball over and he followed. He looked back at Grassy, he was just staring at the screen, looking at Basketball and Blocky's icons. Tennis ball frowned, he pitied Grassy's situation. His parent figures have died, and he wasn't close with anyone else on the team really. 8-ball wouldn't want to talk with him right now, and Golf ball ignored him. Tennis ball stood still. As much as he liked helping Golf ball with their projects, he knew Grassy needed company. 

""Hey Golf ball? I'm gonna be right back."

"Ok but be back quick! This is important."

Tennis ball thanked her and went to Grassy. He noticed that he held himself in a tight ball, silently crying. Tennis ball approached him more slowly. Eventually he stopped in front of him, looking down. Grassy did a final sniffle and looked up. 

"W-What is it Tennis Ball?"

Grassy was distraught. The people he had cared about the most have been eliminated. He was breaking down. Nobody was going to respect him now! They were the ones who cared the most. They openly spoke so that he could be respected. Now what? A million thoughts were going through his head, and then he heard somebody coming near. At first, he didn't care, but seeing that they were right over him, he started talking. Tennis ball responded with,

"Nothing. I just thought you could use an object to talk to."

"I-I'm fine..."

However, after a few seconds, he started sobbing. He spilled out everything he was thinking about. Tennis Ball didn't talk the entire time. Just listened to what he had to say, and comforted Grassy. After a little while, Grassy stopped. He looked up at Tennis Ball and said,

"Thank you, Tennis Ball, Grassy needed some support."

Tennis ball just looked at him and said,

"Don't worry, I'm here for you Grassy.
