Chapter 22: Surprising Results!

Cloudy, Roboty, David

David was hiding in the trees while Snowball looked for him. 

*Huff, Huff*

David was sweating; he had hidden in a tree the whole time Roboty and Cloudy launched their attack. So, he had seen both of them fall due to Match and Snowball. However, Cloudy managed to take Match down, so it wasn't a complete loss. He looked around at his surroundings. Snowball was on the floor, and he was safe in a tree. He couldn't be here for longer though, as Snowball would hear him soon. He could climb onto the other tree, but that would probably alert Snowball. Maybe he could face Snowball in a fight? He looked down at him. Snowball was searching down on the floor and not looking up, but he could still see the fierce look in his eyes. Gulping, he quickly turned down the idea of a fight. What if he just screeched his hardest? He got Firey and Bubble with that. But Pencil was fine. It didn't work on everyone, so it might not work on Snowball. However, out of the 3 people he screeched, it worked on 2, so it was more likely that it would work. 

Crack

Snowball turned his head around. The tree on his right had a branch that was starting to get weighed down. He smiled, that must be David! He grabbed Match's pocketknife and started approaching the fallen branch. He raised it high above when he saw David facing him with a smirk. Confused, he hesitated to take his knife down, and David used the opportunity. 

"SCREEECH!!!"

Snowball covered his ears and winced. Yes! It worked! David took the knife from his hands and stabbed him. Snowball didn't move, and instead looked at him in rage. Scared, he stabbed him again, and that seemed to work. Snowball was now on his knees, holding his side in pain. Grinning, David went around and stabbed again. Snowball couldn't look at him, and soon after a little while, he fell down. David walked closer to him, no breathing. He smiled a proud grin and looked at his body. He seemed to have brought no weapons but did have some food rations. He gladly took those, and trotted off, ready to go back to his base. When he was about to cross the border, he heard a weird suspenseful noise. Confused, he looked behind him. It was Woody! I guess he survived Leafy's attack. David started approaching him, waving his arm as a greeting. Woody didn't greet him back, or whimper. He just looked at him in a dead stare. Creeped out, David lowered his hand. He then waved it in Woody's face, but nothing. Suddenly, Woody lunged at him, just as Leafy had done to him before. What the- David looked at him in shock, but soon pushed him off. Even though David looked skinny and lean, he was actually pretty powerful. After he had pushed him off, he followed up the push with a punch near his right eye. It caused a piece of Woody to fall off, but he didn't seem to notice. He just charged again, and David just dodged to the side and kicked his side. He fell to the ground, and another piece was lost. However, he just ran towards David again. This started to annoy David. 

"Oh, seriously?"

David grabbed his arm and swung him into the bush. He didn't hear any reply from that, but soon felt him behind David. He turned around but it was too late. Woody bit down onto his arm. David let out a scream in pain and pulled him off. Blood started welling from the bite, but David didn't pay attention. It was his turn to charge at Woody, but he just teleported. David ignored this and ran to the tree. He climbed into it, trying to pull some leaves off. Once he got two or three pieces, he covered his wound with it. It hurt like hell, but he just had to bear it. He looked down, Woody was looking at him, an evil grin etched on his face. Weirded out, David used a tree climbing strategy. Basically, he got out of there by climbing from one tree to another. After 4 trees, he looked back. Woody was nowhere to be seen, so he stopped. He laid down in the tree and rested. He asked himself questions about what happened to Woody. Why was he there? Didn't he die from Leafy? Why did he attack him? Why the heck did his bite hurt so much? If you're asking why David thinks his bite hurts more than others, it's because in one of Dora's attempts to murder him, David got bit. He stopped thinking about it and focused more on getting back to BEEP's territory. Once he was back home in his base, he would be safe. Yeah, and the only one on my team.

APE

4 was unamused with how David's battle turned out. 

"He ended it way too fast!"

4 was on a chair, complaining about how David handled the obstacles he faced. X was standing next to him, a sad smile while they listened to 4 ramble about this. They had just seen how David went against Woody, who was infected at the time. 4 couldn't believe how fast it ended! They had battled for a good 3 minutes, and then he turned tail and ran. If he had stayed, he probably would have won against Woody. The slab of wood had chips of him out and unattached. If he had just tried the same strategy over and over again, Woody's body wouldn't last. At least he was going to die. He watched now as David was breathing heavily in the tree, holding his wound. After a little while though, he was fine. He even managed to go sleep. David had a better body than he thought! Not only was he surprisingly athletic, but he was also able to recover from that! He might actually make it fun to watch. In fact, he could win this whole thing if you thought about it. X just stood by their side awkwardly, obviously not as into this as they were. 4 noticed, and told X,

"Y'know, if you don't enjoy this you can leave."

"No! I'm fine, I just don't know what to say about David's condition."

"I know right? He is recovering quickly compared to others."

X lied. They didn't really care for David's state as of now, but more about 4. They were always one to enjoy others' struggles, but it still seemed like it was more intense than usual. Was he sane still? Was 4 slowly deteriorating his mental state? No, he's always been like this. He's just excited at how the challenge is going. Maybe afterwards he'll be more relaxed...

Author's Note: David has something going on, do you know what that is? Also, I realized that my chapters are way longer than before, and that might cause less people to read. I mean, as of now it takes more than 2 hours to read all of the chapters. Because of this, I'll try to make each chapter shorter. Thank you for reading this!
