Elio POV

Paulo yelled out, "Lycanroc finish it! Accelerock!" The Lycanroc launched forward but lost its footing as it got closer, "Sparkling Aria!" The sparkling aria slammed the Lycanroc hard and sent it down. It was hurt. Did you really think Primarina would miss 3 ice beams in a row after all the training we did? I wanted to make the ground slippery! Paulo reeled in shock, "Wha-!" "Primarina! Another Ice Beam now! While it's hurt!" Primarina aimed an Ice Beam right under the Lycanroc and it once again slipped. I yelled, "PRIMARINA! SPARKLING ARIA! EVERYTHING YOU'VE GOT!" Primarina yelled loud and sent a Sparkling Aria full force at the Lycanroc, creating a smoke cloud. I covered my face as the wind from the sheer impact blew across the arena.

Lycanroc stumbled out of the smoke and Paulo yelled, "No! Stop fooling around! Stone edge!" The Lycanroc began weakly and sent a stone edge." I yelled, "SPARKLING ARIA!" The stones rising from the ground came towards Primarina, but the Sparkling Aria met the stones and began to cut through them quickly, until it pierced them all and hit the Lycanroc. It collapsed to the ground and stopped moving. The referee yelled, "POINT TO PASIO! PASIO UNIVERSITY WINS THE GAME 6 TO 5!"

I smiled to myself as time itself seemed to slow. I watched in slow motion as the arena around me erupted in to absolute hysterics and Paulo fell to his knees. The hail last time showed me that Paulo never trained in the elements. That Lycanroc would not be able to handle a change to its field. That was the only weakness. And somehow. Someway. I exploited it. I turned back and began to walk towards the sideline as the team yelled and began to throw their hats up in the air as they charged me. I smiled back as they all surrounded me and celebrated, Brendan shook me by the shoulders, "YOU GENIUS! I CAN'T BELIEVE IT!!!" I looked over in the crowd at Paulo's and my Dad who looked in absolute shock and anger. I simply looked at him, gave an apologetic shrug and continued to walk towards the tunnel. Brendan walked by me, "W-wait, Elio, where are you going? We still have to celebrate out there!" I looked back at him and saw as security was unable to keep the fans off the field. The fans had stormed and were celebrating like I had never seen. I smiled to Brendan, "I'll be back in a little bit. I... I just need a moment." Brendan patted me on the shoulder, "Are you ok? I know the first time you beat Rich you..." I shook my head, "I'm ok. I just need a second." Brendan smiled and turned back, "Ok. But you better be back out here." I chuckled, "You bet."

Commentators POV

"THEY HAVE DONE IT! PASIO UNIVERSITY PULLED THE UPSET OF THE CENTURY AND HAS WON THE CHAMPIONSHIP!" My partner shook my shoulder in disbelief, "PAULO! THE BEST ONE ON ONE BATTLER IN THE WORLD JUST LOST TO A MAN WHO WAS PRESUMED DEAD UNTIL A FEW MONTHS AGO! ONLY IN SPORTS! WHAT WE HAVE SEEN TODAY IS AS CLOSE TO A MIRACLE AS YOU'LL EVER SEE!" I stared down as the crowd rushed the field. "And they will not keep the crowd off the field tonight! What a battle. What a day. What a tournament. We'll return with coverage of the trophy presentation. But for me and my partner, we're gonna sign off. After the most incredible day in collegiate battling history."

Lillie POV

I ran down to the field, I can't believe what I just saw. But I'm more worried than elated. Elio looked absolutely spent. I think he gave more to that battle than he had. And after the health scares he's had... I'm worried. I'm also worried because he's not celebrating with the team. He walked to the locker room, he may be emotionally wrecked like he was years ago. I have to track him down. Calem was cutting through the crowd and hugged Brendan tightly. He then conversed with Brendan and looked over to me after a bit. He and Serena walked over to me and he jogged forward, "We better find Elio, make sure he's ok." I nodded and we jogged in to the locker room. I caught a glimpse of him leaving as soon as we made it in. He was walking somewhere. We jogged after him until he stood at the edge of the Castellia dock. Lots of ships were docked with people here to watch the final. The sun was setting over the water and it made it a beautiful golden color. I walked up to him and looked over to him as Serena and Calem stood back, "Elio? Are you ok?" He put his hands on his knees and then stood up straight, "Hm? Oh. Yeah! I'm fine Lil!" I sighed with relief, "Oh thank goodness. You scared me Elio. Great job though. That was absolutely incredible." He smiled and scratched his head, "Huh? Oh yeah. Sorry to scare ya. I actually brought you here for a reason." Elio held his hands out and Calem threw him something. He caught it and then smiled. He took a knee.
