Chapter 41

"Hakob, niluto ko 'yong noodles. 'Yon lang kaya ko. Kain na tayo." Kausap niya sa natutulog na binata.

Pero hindi tumugon ito dahil nga tulog. Umupo siya sa gilid ng kama at hinaplos ang buhol nito pero ganoon na lang ang gulat niya ng maramdaman ang init ng noo nito.

"Hakob!" She screamed in horror.

Hakob just groaned. Doon lang niya napansin na may mumunting butil ng pawis na sa noo nito. Namumula rin ang binata, indikasyon na may lagnat ito!

"Hakob, wake up..." Naiiyak na tawag niya.

He probably had a fever because of the shot. Kinumutan niya ang binata at tumungo sa banyo para kumuha ng basin at towel. Lumapit rin siya sa mini-ref at kumuha ng ice cubes at nilagay sa basin kasama ang malamig na tubig.

Nagmamadali siyang lumapit sa binata. She caress his forehead again and it's really hot.

"C-chim.." Tawag ng binata, naalimpungatan at tumingin sa kanya.

"Hakob, you're hot." Balita niya rito incase he's not aware.

Ngumiti ito.

"I know, love. You fell in love with me because I'm hot."

Argh!

Kung wala lang itong sakit ay baka nabatukan na niya ito. Nanaaig pa rinang pag-aalala niya kaya pinahiran na niya ito ng basa at malamig na towel.

"You're having a fever, Hakob. I-I'm worried, I don't know what to do." Nag-aalalang anas niya.

"I'll feel better soon knowing you're taking care of me, Señorita." He smiled.

Ito ba ang side effect ng nadaplisan ng bala? Napakatamis magsalita! He's like he's high or something.

"Should I kiss you then so that you'll heal fast?" She asked.

Natigilan ang binata. Napansin niyang mas lalong tumingkad ang kulay pula sa pisngi nito. Why is he blushing?

"N-no..I-I'm sick." Sabi nito saka napatikhim.

Kumunot ang noo niya.

"That's the point. Sabi mo kanina mas madali kang gagaling sa halik ko tapos ngayon ayaw mo? Come on, let's kiss." She said and lean closer to him but he moved his face a bit.

"No, mahahawa ka." He groaned.

"Gagaling ka naman."

"Señorita, please.." He groaned begging.

Doon na niya pinakawalan ang ngisi.

"Now, you're complaining, huh? Tasting your own medicine."

Hakob just rolled his eyes at her and close it after.

"Anong nararamdaman mo?" Masuyong tanong niya at hinaplos ang mukha nito.

"Mahal na mahal kita, Señorita. 'Yan ang nararamdaman ko." Seryosong sagot nito.

"Puro ka talaga kalokohan!" She hissed.

Pero dumilat lang ito at mapungay ang matang tiningnan siya. Inabot nito ang kamay niya at hinawakan ng mahigpit.

"Seryoso ako, Cyra. At hindi ko kayang galit ka pa rin sa 'kin. I want us back."

Napalunok siya sa sinabi nito. Bigla ay umurong ang dila niya at hindi makapagsalita. Hindi niya rin alam ang isasagot. Pero ano nga bang isasagot niya kung hindi naman ito nagtanong?

"Are you still mad at me, love?" He asked making the ice that surrounds her heart melted.

Napatingin lang siya sa magkahugpong na kamay nila dahil hindi niya makayanan ang titig nito. Nakakatunaw, nakakarupok. 'Yong tipong kay sarap nitong halikan bigla hindi para gumaling ito kung hindi dahil gusto niya at mahal niya pa rin ito.

"Y-yes..." She answered almost whispering.

"I'm sorry..."

Sa lahat ng sorry nito ay ngayon lang talaga siya nadala. It's so sincere and heavy, parang nabawasan ang bigat sa dibdib niya. Hindi niya napigilang maiyak.

"D-did you really use me?"

Hakob sighed and held her hand tighter. His thumb were massaging the back of her palm while holding her hand.

Bumuntong hininga ito at napapikit ng mariin.

"I'm sorry." He apologized.

Her heart ached.

"W-why?"

"What happened between Chim and Elias was real and genuine. Not until you fly back to California and I knew I had to wait for long before I pursue you to marry because we were still young. I planned to marry you when you reached 28."

Hindi niya napigilang matawa ng mapakla.

"Wow. So, you will let years passed without us being together and decided to marry me after that? What if I eventually find another guy to love and marry----"

"Don't even go there, Cyra Chimera. You think I will let any other male to come near you with the intent to marry you? They'll die." He said dangerously making her body shiver but not in a scared manner.

"You're selfish." Anas niya.

Ganito ba talaga ang mga Benjamin? Possessive? It's a negative word but why does it feels so positive when it's Benjamin we're talking about? Especially, on her side, if it is Hakob Elias.

"When it comes to you I never share, Señorita." Seeyosong sagot pa rin nito habang may mabigat na titig sa kanya.

Bumilis ang tibok ng puso niya. Hakob really knew how to make her knees weak and heart beat faster.

"Ipagdadamot mo 'ko?"

"Hmm. Kasi akin ka lang."

"Pero ginamit mo nga ako?"

Hakob sighed on the fact that she keep on rubbing it on his face.

"I was eager to wait for you and maybe take a glance on your face once in a while and focus on my career but my Lolo asked for a favor to help Kuya Hendrix. And I have also known about your real father and the story behind it. I indeed had use you, that's the plan, I was blinded by its benefits because it's for the good of the Benjamin as well as for you and your family Chim."

So that's why. Why hasn't she think about the good side of his move tho? Because she was hurt by the fact that he used her without thinking tge reason why and continue being deaf for his explanation. But she's not guilty, her feelings is valid. But the anger and hatred is slowly melting, sa tingin niya ay mapapatawad na niya ito.

"I know the day would come that you will know the truth, naisip ko na 'yon. And I thought that I know you'll be mad at me so I will continue on my original plan, I'll wait for years to have the right time to marry you. I had to let you being mad at me para ikaw na mismo ang lumayo pero ang hirap pala..."

Humigpit ang hawak nito sa kamay niya at dinala sa labi nito para patakan ng halik.

"Isang araw, isang oras, isang minuto ni isang segundo. Hindi ko pala kayang malayo sa 'yo."

Hakob...

"It's not about waiting for the right time to marry you, because it doesn't work that way,  'coz its about loving you and nurturing our relationship every single day so that we won't be looking for the right time because the right time itself will gonna look for us.  I apologize about my mistakes, love."

"F-forgiven.." Naiiyak na sagot niya.

Hindi siya makasagot ng maraming salita ay dahil baka bigla na lang siyang umuiyak tapos baka kapag tinanong siya nito kung bakit siya umiyak nakakahiyang isagot na kinikilig lang siya.

"Now that you forgave me, will you be my girlfriend, Chim?"
