Chapter 39: The confrontation.
"Papa, are you okay?" Mint asked again. She looked at him. "What time is it?" Arthit asked. "It is past 6, papa."
"Are you hungry?" He asked. Mint nodded and, hanged her head low. "Let's go, eat something." He gave her a small smile and, held her by the hand.
He lead her, to the kitchen and make her sit. He then, started to grab the pancake mix from the pantry and mixed it with the egg, oil, and water. Mint patiently waited for her papa, while she just watched every movement of his.
After a while, Arthit finally served Mint the pancakes and of course, she loved it and even praised him.
"Alright, Alright. Stop with the praises, okay. Get ready for school." He said and, cleaned the table and put the dishes in the sink for him to wash later. "Let's go, bath." He said and lead her to the bathroom and, bathe her up.
Arthit then, dried her up with a towel and, prepared her school uniform.
She then, made her way to the downstairs, followed by Arthit. He then, looked at the time in his phone and it was 6:55. There's still so many time so, he said to Mint, "Read a book, first, okay? I will just gonna take a quick bath."
Mint nodded her head and, went to the couch and, read a book that was in the shelf. It was a story of Red Ridding Hood.
Arthit on the another hand took a quick bath for himself and, dressed neatly.
"Let's go." He said, as he grabbed his keys from the coffee table and, Mint was the first one to ran to the gates. "Wait up, Mint." He said, as he lock the doors and, he lead Mint to the car. He also, locked the gates before coming into the car, so, no one could break in. Arthit then, started to drove off, while Mint kept looking at the view from the window.
After a few minutes of driving, finally the two reached the school in time. Mint ran in, after kissing her papa's cheeks and Arthit was driving himself off to work.
And, just like yesterday, Arthit had ignored Kongpob whom passed by. Kongpob of course, didn't say anything but, the same odd feeling surrounded him. He was curious, why was Arthit acting strangely.
"Still not talking to him?" Earth asked as he soon sat on his chair. Luckily, Jeed was preparing something in the meeting room and, Duen was on a leave.
Of course, the two, Maprang and Prae was busy with their work, and didn't had enough time to gossip or, track things that happened.
"Nope." He said, and sighed. "Don't you want to make up?" She put her hand on his shoulders, Arthit just smiled and said, "I think it would be better to keep my distance from him."
Feeling worried, Earth wanted to asked some questions regarding to the three but still kept her mouth shut. Arthit was going through alot and, she don't want to add anything up into his thoughts. She just, went back to work without saying anything, while Arthit kept his serious face.
__
"Sir, coffee?" Jeed asked as she put the cup in to his desk. "Thank you." He simply said, "You could go now."
Jeed nod and went out of the office, leaving Kongpob alone. Kongpob took a sip of the coffee and sighed.
He was still figuring out why was Arthit had been ignoring him, since yesterday. It was as if, Arthit completely changed into a different person just in a day.
But it was so hard to figure out what was happening when, the person itself was avoiding him.
But, what really happened to Arthit? Why was he avoiding him?
"What really happened to us?" Kong asked himself.
__
It was finally a time to go home, and as always, Earth and him was chatting for a little. "So, i guess see you tomorrow." Earth said, "But, before I could forget, Tian was asking if he could visit. He had miss Mint and wanted to play with her."
"Sure, no problem with that." He said, smiling at her. Earth nodded and finally, waved a goodbye.
And, with that, Arthit finally entered his car and started his engine. As he was driving, he couldn't feel at ease.
He don't know but, he felt like something was up that he could not clarify. But, he still put his thoughts aside as, he was already here, Infront of the school waiting for his daughter.
"Papa!" Mint shouted as she ran into him. He hugged her tight and, lead her to her seat.
"How was your day?" Arthit asked as he buckled himself back. "It was good, papa. I got an A in my quiz!"
Arthit smiled, "That's good."
As he drove off, Mint kept telling him stories happened in her school and Arthit attentively listened to her.
And, just as her story ended, they arrived at their house at the same time. Arthit first unbuckled himself then, Mint and lead themselves in.
And as they are taking their shoes of, Mint asked something, "Papa, was it bad to have two dads like me?"
"Why'd you ask that, sweetheart?" Arthit questioned back, "Because, all of my classmates have a mama and papa."
Arthit chuckled and patted her head, "It was not bad to have a two parents who loves you. Whether they are both the same gender like me and your dad, or like the other parents."
Arthit then smiled and gave her an assuring smile. "Thank you papa." She said and ran up to her room, to change herself and play, afterwards.
Arthit on the other hand, made his way to the kitchen to wash the dishes, that was leafy early in the morning and while drying the dishes he washed, he the, brought out some vegetables from the fridge and started chopping them, one by one.
But, then, in the middle of him, chopping the vagetables , a knock was heard from the gate that alarmed him.
He gently placed the knife into the counter and, went to the gates to open it.
"What are you doing here?" He asked at the person, standing Infront of him, "What? I thought you agreed that i could visit every time I wanted? Whats with the question?" Kongpob asked, confusedly.
"Well, i change my mind." He said, and tried to close the gates but, Kongpob was too strong and held the gates so, he and Arthit could talk more. "What happened, Arthit?" He asked.
"Why are you avoiding me, since yesterday?" Kongpob asked him again, but this time, his face was now serious.
Arthit on the other side, sighed and looked at him, fiercely. "You already have a family, waiting for you, so why bother to visit Mint when, you already have a son, to play with at your house."
Arthit said, in one go. Of course, he couldn't take it any longer and the words from his mouth spill.
"Family?" Kongpob asked, "What are you talking about? I am not married, and i don't have any other kids than Mint."
Kongpob chuckled, it finally make sense now. Arthit had avoided him, because he believes that he was already married.
