A/n: it's still in Khayr's POV everyone. If there's change in POV I'd indicate insha Allah.

The thing about going to a makeup studio is that, no matter how early you go they'd still make you wait. Imagine, I was dropped here by Abideen after asr prayer yet it's only by now, a few minutes to six that I finally got my look done, talkless of even wearing my clothing and the rest. Why I was getting more pressed was due to the fact that my friends Dee and Basee where already at the venue. Done with fittings, done with makeup, done with everything and already at the venue while I'm only currently trying my dress. Also, Hameed had been waiting for me for more than fifteen minutes now. I really dislike it when people waste my time. Wasting my time is fine, but it has now affected Hameed too.
I dressed up and didn't even wait for them to snap me before hurrying out of the makeup studio into Hameed's familiar Mercedes Benz.
"Sorry for making you wait Habibi" I apologized, fastening my seatbelt
"Nevermind" he grinned, clearly not disturbed.
"So, how do you find the look?" I asked, referring to my makeup look for the evening as he began driving to the venue. He was wearing a good looking black tux with a green bow tie. I did tell him my dress was green, I guess he took that into account and chose a matching bow tie. Afterall, he was my date for tonight.
"Honestly, you shouldn't have gone as far as to get the make up. You look more than better in your natural look" as you can tell, Hameed isn't a fan of makeup.
"It's not even a heavy one Habibi" I laughed. I got the light makeup look with no smokey eye shadow, eyelashes or loud lip color. I can already imagine how hilarious he'd look at me if I'd got that kind of look.
I'm also not the makeup type, but I feel like today it's needed for the occasion. It's even my first time getting any makeup from some professional today. At home I'd just use my light foundation, concealer, do my brows, some eyeliner and lip gloss and that was basically it. Oh no, I'm certainly not a fan of that face painting they do.
"If you see the heavy one you'd freak out" I added
"Okay" he spared me a look with his usual warm smile before turning back onto the road.
We arrived the venue and parked the car. Hameed pulled out and opened the door for me like a gentleman should. It's prom afterall, so boys are expected to act like this. Prom or not, Hameed always opens the door for me. I'm not bluffing, Hameed really knows the right way to treat a girl. Like a priceless gem, how I deserve.
I confidently interlaced my shoulder with his and walked down the beautiful hotel compound with date trees towering over us which added to the ambience of the place. Soon enough, we became an object of stare to the few people littered around the place either leaning on cars, chatting or just standing. It made me wonder if it was my outstanding green appearance which stole the attention or just Hameed, my hot boyfriend since he was mostly the one returning the waves.
I've had a very low profile during highschool. Not that I don't enjoy it. Infact I enjoy keeping a low profile more than anything. Hameed has contributed to that and I'm more than grateful.
I was one of the girls with the most unique look in my set. So it must be a mystery that I don't gather attention from boys right? Especially that highschool boys can be so cocky and daring. Like I said, it's all due to Hameed.
He's had his eyes on me since my jss days and he wasted no time in creating a barrier. He was very popular and dominant during his time, so that barrier of "don't go close to my girl" upholded even though we weren't really dating then. It made me feel protected and lead a smooth and scandal-free life in highschool.
