Khayr's POV
Sabira's naming ceremony wrapped up successfully yesterday. I don't even need to say, it was so much fun. I chatted a lot with my cousins whom I haven't seen in a long time. We snapped thousands of pictures too and recorded a lot of memories. We drank delicious and fruity drinks. We ate yummy food and dessert. Everything was just perfectly organised.
My mom was intense for this ceremony, so nothing less should be expected. My family splashed on ittttt.
Seriously, if I was Yaya Ramlat I'd feel a little bit jealous. I mean, it wasn't this splendid on her own first birth even though she's the first child to deliver in our house. But i doubt that she'd even make any comparison or feel bad about it. That possibility reclines more on Yaya Badiyya 'cause Yaya Ramlat is more of a down-to-earth person, just like Mama Suwaiba, and a quieter person compared to Abideen. Needless to say, selflessly kind.
Just like I earlier predicted, Sabira did deny getting a makeover and got into a fight with Mom, once again. Yes, history repeated itself. The very scene during her wedding. Though the difference here is that the other time she agreed to it. This time around, she stubbornly stayed firm on her words.
It's mom's fault however, because she's the one who went ahead on her own and hired a makeup artist without demanding first from Sabira if she's interested. In the end, it was just Mom and Sakina who ended up getting the makeover. Did I forget to mention that Sakina and my mother's lifestyle somehow aligned? It's funny how everyone else apart from me and Sabira doesn't find Mom uncomfortably extra.
Sabira asked about my friends admist the festivity, shocking me. I mean, i didn't see that coming. But this is Sabira y'all, Sabira who knows about everything in my life, who also sharply takes notes of even the littlest of details. Obviously, with how close I was with Dee and Basee and the way every single family member in my house knows about thier existence, it'd definitely appear fishy if they don't show up here for my one and only sister's naming ceremony. However, everyone was too engrossed into this hubbub to ask. Only the spotlight herself.
I cleanly brushed it off by telling her that one was busy and one wasn't in town. I wasn't ready to tell about the bizarre reason which made us fall apart. Huda did come though and she served as the replacement for my two lost friends. She has always been a better friend than two of them combined anyways. I missed her so much. The last time we saw each other was when she came to my house the other day.
Sabira did not stop her inquiry at my friends. She had to be extra by asking about Sul. Somehow, she was still skeptical regarding me and him. I lied. Again.
Told her I was fine- we were fine. Adding that we went to the naming ceremony together even.
She loved Adeel's gift soooo much, even asking how I managed to buy such an expensive gift. Well, quite ironically, i had no choice but to inform her that Sul had given me the money. Technically, he did.
The money is his anyways- mine though, since he dashed it to me- his now though since I've reverted it to him.
I recalled my previous argument with him and how i adamantly refused to agree that we got the gift together. Funny enough, i never imagined I'd actually be admitting it that the chip was his.
