Sis Sabira's return is probably one of the best things that occured to me at my wedding. Turns out, Mom knew but completely hid it from me. Said she wanted it to be a surprise. But really, what a mean surprise.. my one and only blood sister coming all the way for my wedding and no one tells me about it to welcome her properly. But well, no problem. The more the merrier.

What's even more good was, Sis Sabira was pregnant! This fact made her snatch away the torch of being the egg of the house from me to herself. But I don't mind really since it's somehow suffocating. Infact I was among the core people who treated her like an egg.

Actually, her pregnancy was seven months old and then my wedding came up, and she was just finishing her fifth year in medical school. It was like a perfect timing. She deferred her year and her husband allowed her to come home for her one and only sister's wedding, as well as to take a good home rest until birth when he'd be arriving, to be with her in welcoming the baby. They then won't be returning until the baby is forty days old. It was too splendid a plan to me.

Today too, it was a full house at Zahradeen Noma's house, because my lefe(some additional wedding tokens consisting of everything a bride would wear) was brought and everyone was there to see it. Three sets of trolleys were brought, twelve trolleys in total with a ghana must go, all filled to brim with everything a girl would ever need. In the trolley containing jeweleries, we found two cases of a full jewelery set of pure gold. My mom knowing gold items too well, estimated the price of both to be around 600k or so.

While everyone was Masha Allah-ing up and down, I was left speechless. I just knew it in my gut Sulaiman would go all out again. I don't know why he won't see that there's no need for him to be too extravagant.

"Ai kudin kampani ne(it's the company's money he's using)"

"ai kudin babanta ne yake kashe mata ba matsala(it's all her father's money so no problem)"

"ai babansu na sakammusu kudi, ma'aikatansa ba(thier dad enjoys giving his workers so much freedom when it comes to the company's funds)"

Such remarks were what I heard from the gossip folks among our family members and it made me even more speechless that human beings shall always be human beings. They'd continuously find faults in the littlest of things, blame innocent people and make assumptions. Humans keep devolving everyday.

"Let's go" Huda grabbed my hand. That's right, my savior. You see why I'm in love with this girl. She always keeps an eye out for me.

We left the crowded sitting room and settled down under the gazebo, outside.

"Come on, don't let what they say affect you" she adviced

"Why don't humans ever change thier retarded ways?" I muttered, looking away

"You and I know that they never will. So why worry? It's just as simple as that" she shrugged

"Okay." I sighed "anyways, you have better things to worry about. We haven't submitted the event list to the graphic designer" she pointed

"Oh that's right" I remembered. I told her about my discussion with Sul yesterday so basically, the invitation card will be all about what we of this side want to do. I'm the one with the knife and meat to be precise.

We decided to just do the usuals, the wankin amarya(bridal shower), walima(special advice) and yinin biki(family get together). The only event we added was the bride's evening which would just be a small party to gather my girls and cousins. Today was Saturday so the wedding events would commence on Wednesday, starting with the wankin amarya, then the bride's evening, then walima and finally, daurin aure, yinin biki, and kan amarya(bridal conveyance) on Saturday.
