Author's POV

Ten days passed and all through these ten days, there was no single day in which Sharhabila and her beloved didn't meet. From dinners on rooftops, to trip to the cinemas, ice cream places, fancy restaurants, shops, watching horse racing games, golf and even something as crazy as attending an Omah Lay concert, they did all of that.

It was indeed like a honeymoon like Sulaiman had prescribed. The only difference was that they were not married. It made her wonder how many crazier stuff they'd do on the real honeymoon.

She waited for his call though, throughout today but he didn't called. He sent her a message in the evening, telling her that he was sorry for not hitting her up as he was up to something with Ibrahim; the cousin whom he came with. She didn't mind, especially that they did so much over the past few days. Her resumption too was nearing and very soon she won't be as mobile around Sulaiman. She hoped that he'd return by the time she resumed because if he didn't she'd obviously be distracted.

On the next day, as it neared 10am, Sharhabila felt it in her gut that even today she might not see Sulaiman.

You coming today? She texted when she saw him online

I don't think so... He texted back

What'll you be up to🙄 she texted

Him: I just want to rest at the resort. I'll be leaving soon by the way.. I'll do a few things for the next two days then meet you for the last time before we return.

Her heart sank in her chest. It's always like this whenever he tells her he'd be leaving. She knew he had to leave, but she couldn't still help but feel bad.

Oh, okay..

He mentioned that he'd be busy for the next few days, but would be free today and resting at the resort. It doesn't always have to be in town. She did look up the resort on Google and found out it was one of the best in Lagos. Sulaiman doesn't always need to come to her. She could take herself to him and they could have fun even at the resort. She didn't see any problem with that. She was even causing him to burn more fuel and waste a lot of money, driving into town just to meet her, especially that the Resort was so far.

She got up and got ready, making up her mind. She was going to Yellow Coast Resort.

She had to hold her breath when her Uber took her there after close to an hour ride. The place was so pretty and it reminded her of a countryside but with more of an Island vibe. She saw the horses and made a mental note to tell Sulaiman that she wanted to ride them. It's something she's always wanted to do but never got the chance. She also took note of the grass, palm trees and pebble pavements, picturing a wonderful picnic on an orange evening.

She got into the lobby and texted him. She cursed herself for not getting him anything and coming empty handed. She should've at least gotten him breakfast from the bakery.

Sherry:You've had breakfast?

Him: No I haven't. I'm still in bed. He texted back

Sherry: Good🌚

Him: Good?? what's good about your man missing breakfast? You enjoy that I starve?

She ignored his dramatic texts and asked the receptionist where she could get some food and the receptionist referred her to the eating hall.
