Author's POV

One year has passed and Sulaiman gradually became the man Sharhabila would ever wish for. She never had an ideal boyfriend picture in her mind as she began to grow but she realised he was all of it.

Like he promised, he changed her life completely. He enrolled her into an elite nursing school in Lagos and compiled all of the tuition fees for the total of two years which she'd study in order to acquire the diploma, a whooping 1.5 million naira. He planned to marry her after she gets the diploma, then they'd discuss how her education was going to continue. Perhaps she'd begin work with merely the diploma or get into the university and spend three years before getting a B.Sc. Both alternative was fine to her, but one thing was certain. That she couldn't wait to get married to him.

It also surprised her a lot how she transitioned from a pauper to a princess overnight. Sulaiman replaced a father's role in her life while being her lover at the same time. He paid her tuition, and covered for her accomodation. He really didn't like her staying at that gloomy neighborhood, so he suggested that she moved to the school hostel which she did. He sent her an allowance of 50k every month because he'd really be embarrassed to hear that his girl is still doing some business to have spending- cash. Even after all of this, Sulaiman would still send her gifts to put a smile on her face, just to relieve her of school stress since it really gets hectic at health schools. He also kept his promise and visited her every month or two, spending a whole weekend hanging out with her. He did all of these, selflessly because he loved her. He never disrespected her or embarrassed her by doing something sexual to her both physically or verbally. Sometimes it makes her wonder if he's really a human because of how extremely kind he has been to her.

She spent more than two years saving up money by selling puff puff, she never imagined her fortune will come to her at her doorstep, in form of Sulaiman.

Tawakkalt however left Nigeria and moved to The States. Her father got a big job at the Nigerian embassy in USA so he packed up his family of five and went with them over there. The bestfriends did reconcile, but it really sucked that they had to go thier separate ways. Both would definitely make new friends at thier new respective places but that doesn't change the fact that they've made both good and bad memories and would keep in touch no matter what.

Sharhabila kept Sulaiman a secret from her brother. She's seen how harsh he's acted towards boys who professed thier liking into her and she feared thesame would happen to Sulaiman if her brother heard about it, so she kept it a secret. It was a good thing her brother was never around during the day, which allowed her to see Sulaiman to her heart's content. However, when the process about her nursing program came up, she had no choice but to lie to her brother. She told him she was lucky enough to pass an exam and got granted a scholarship at this particular nursing school. He never imagined it would be a lie, so he believed it, especially that he knew how intelligent a person his sister was. She was relieved, but she had to lie to him again that staying on campus was compulsory, so she can abide by what Sulaiman told her, to stay at the hostel which was obviously better than where she lived.

Toyyib didn't want to be separated from his sister, but he had to let her go. He wanted nothing more than to keep an eye on her to make sure that she's his perfect sister who is not corrupted by bad folks.

When it was time for breaks though, Sharhabila would come home and spend a few days before returning to the hostel again.

Whenever Sulaiman came to her school to pick her up, she'd lie to her friends that he was her brother. She didn't want to tell them he was her boyfriend because they'd just go ahead and assume she's a slut. They'd never believe that he gives her all of this fortune selflessly without her offering her body to him. She was slowly turning into a big liar. She hated it, but she had to do it. Her friends believed she was born with silver spoon in her mouth so she had to play by it. She told them she was from Ibadan, not Lagos to throw them off ever trying to bring up visiting her house. It'll be incredibly brow raising to find out that such a rich girl like her lived in such place, if she took them to the place where she truly lived and called home.
