Khayr's POV

There you go Khayr, you're free now. Spread your wings and fly.

His voice echoed, a beautiful smile gracing his marvellous facial features. The blinding light suddenly darkened as he turned his back at me, running. I remain etched in my position, confused.

He was now running after a pregnant woman. She was panting heavily, terrified as she ran for her life. She tried running harder whenever she turned and saw him behind her; after her. I wanted to help, but I was too dazed to. It was as if my being had been rendered motionless. The pregnant woman lost her balance and stumbled on to the ground. The loud cry she released after falling caused me to tear my lids open abruptly.

I rolled my vision to my side, where Sabira was sleeping soundly and almost released a sigh of relief. I carefully pulled my pillow and propped myself on it as I sat up. The AC was on, but sweat was dripping down my face. I'm sure it's because of the nightmare which I just had.

"Laa ilaha illah anta subhanaka inni kuntu mina dhaalimeen" I supplicated, swallowing hard as I dabbed at the sweat on my face with the hem of the t-shirt I was wearing to sleep. I couldn't stop my hand from shaking as I curled my fingers around the glass of water placed on the bedside drawer. I took big gulps to calm myself down and returned the now empty glass on the table.

I quietly lowered my feet to the cold ground in order to get out of bed. Adeel was asleep in his crib. It was positioned beside me. I know he's asleep, I'm just curious as to how he's doing.

Was he dreaming or was he not?

What expression he had on his face?

Sounds weird, but it's definitely better than having to stay awake and be endlessly anxious about the nightmare I had. I woke due to it, so all of my sleep has fled.

Sabira stirred, dropping her hand unconsciously to the side where I was supposed to be, asleep.

Feeling the emptiness of the side where I'm supposed to be, she abruptly sat up. I shut my eyes hard, biting my lower lip. What I was desperately trying to avoid just occured. Relief washed over her after she saw that I was right there. She pressed her hand on her chest gratefully.

She yawned, taking off the quilt which we covered ourselves with and stepped her feet below the bed, on the floor. She stood up, rubbing her eyes as she walked around the bed, to where I was.

"Are you okay?" She worriedly asked, placing a hand on my shoulder

"I'm fine.." I smile, unsure if she could see with how dark the room was. I estimated the time to be not long after midnight. I don't remember sleeping for long.

"Why are you up then? You're not supposed to be up at this time. You did not take your medication right?" she says, confirming to me my doubts. They've been feeding me what nearly killed me with the camouflage of "medications to help me". I always wondered if these special medications had no name...turns out they're just sleeping pills. No wonder I was always out cold each night. I barely had any nightmares since I got discharged from the hospital, if not today. If I did, then it's a circumstance similar to today's; of mistakenly skipping medicine.

I gave her a nod as response. She sighed and shook her head stressfully. I really feel bad for her. She has to take care of Adeel, she has to take care of me. It's not easy at all. I'm not even a fanatic of the way she and everyone else treats me. They're so so worried about me that it's beginning to creep me out.
