'you could've been anywhere in this world but you're here with me'

Author's POV

Sherry: Good morning Habibi😘

_

Sherry: they started selling this churros in our school. It's so tasty

_

Sherry: (video attachment) I filmed a TikTok with my friends today after class

_

Sherry: (mirror selfie) wallah I love practicals so much. I like how smart wearing a lab coat makes me feel

_

Sherry: I bought these clear glasses. I'm really bent upon looking nerdy

_

Sherry: what's happening, Sul? You haven't messaged or called for over four days now. You haven't replied my messages too even though you're online

_

Sherry: I'm getting really anxious, Habibi. Please give me a reply at least. I need to know you're okay.

_

Sherry: I messaged Samir too but he's not replying. Please what's going on🥺🥺🥺🥺

Sul: calm down. I'm fine. I've just been busy

Sherry: huh?! Are you kidding me! I was worried sick about you! Only for you to tell me 'you're busy'

Sul: look, I'm sorry okay!

Sherry: no you're not! Perhaps you found someone better than me Sul. You've been busy a lot of times. Yet you still created time for me. Or do you find me unimportant now? Did you find something more important than I am?

Sul: what do you mean?

Sherry: some hausa girl perhaps, someone better than me.

_

Sherry: leaving me on read?🥺 You really don't take me seriously now do you? You have changed.

_

Sherry: You've really upset me, Sul! I can't even focus in class.

Sul: Sharhabila, you need to calm down. You're overreacting

Sherry: replying me only now? You know what?, Just leave me alone!

.

Sul hissed as he tapped his finger impatiently on the steering wheel. There was the night hold up at the roundabout which he takes before going home and it was swarming with hawkers and beggars. Hold ups annoyed him to no ends. Mostly because it gave beggars the chance to run their filth.

It was nearing nine pm and he was headed home.

He released another hiss as he eyed an old female beggar who pressed her face on his windowpane. He could see her lips moving as she begged at him.
