It's not what it looks like

This morning Cleo was on her way to work at the marine park when she was walking over the bridge and decided to undo her necklace for some odd reason and it fell onto the path she was walking on and before she could reach over and grab it it went into the water where she couldn't go after it. And as no one was watching her at that time and she was very lucky no one was there. She went for a little swim with the dolphins to get her necklace back. Cleo the same Cleo who didn't want anything to do with this mermaid business or the water was taking a huge risk by going after her necklace in her mermaid form when anyone could've seen her.

While she was down there a dolphin started playing with her very happy to see her. As she smiled back at it. The dolphin took her for a ride before she saw someone's feet approach. She knew no one usually came out here this early and knew that normally she was the only one but now she hid up against the edge where her back hit the cage part that kept the dolphins in as the person walked by. Then she found another way out made sure her necklace was on safe and sound and got right to work for the day. She had a bucket of fish in her hand and the dolphin swam right up to her asking to be fed as she tossed it into the water as one of the other workers walked by.

You fed him he said seeming surprised. I'm so sorry I thought.... She tried to apologize but he cut her off. No, no that's a good thing he's only been here a couple of days and won't let anyone get close to him. He'd told her. What's your secret? He asked her. Maybe he just likes my personality Cleo smiled back. When she came back she met up with Rikki Jordan and I (outfit 39)at the juice bar café. She was upset that the guys surrounding Miriam were all over her and seemed to hang onto her every word. You know I can't really say much about relationships myself seeing as Jordan I have more or less been dating since we were like what 8 years old I turned to him. Something like that he smiled back at me interlocking our fingers. And then for some unknown reason Zane came over and started smiling at Cleo. My brain screamed danger danger danger in neon lights but he asked to speak to Cleo.

And why would Cleo waste her breath talking to you?! Rikki asked him. Because she wastes her breath talking to you daily he told her. I put my hand on her arm and gave her a look she gave me a concerned look right back. She knew I was telling her no warning her not to go but I also knew if she didn't hear him out he'd just keep coming back until he got what he wanted. It's ok Zane we can talk. Cleo told him as she got up from the table. I watched as she turned to me. CT: I'll be quick I heard her tell me. They sat a their own table while I made sure Cleo had her phone secretly calling me with it hidden away so that I'd be kept in the loop. He asked to buy her a drink then asked her about work. Rikki was trying to keep her eyes on them trying to figure out what he could possibly want with Cleo.

You're freaking me out Zane what do you want?! Nothing.... Well the Marine park library has.... And then he started talking about research and I stopped listening. Because I had my phone on mute. So, can you get me access? He asked her. Probably but why would I want to do that? She asked him. He told her a big fat lie of course that he was all burned up inside that some sea creatures were going extinct before they were ever discovered. That's it Zane you play your sad song on your tiny violin. We all know he doesn't care about these sea creatures he just wants to find the one or the 3 that saved him from drowning that one time. He wanted research on us. But because he told her that he wanted to save the creatures she was so surprised and told she'd see what she could do. And she had this big smile on her face. As I did a spit take but then trying to act totally natural. As if I wasn't totally just eavesdropping.

When we got home mom asked about our day. Cleo said it was awful because she had a surprise math test and then the phone rang. Now it was mom's turn to eavesdrop. Hey, I wasn't expecting you to call me she said to the other person on the other side of the phone. No, it's a good surprise. The guy she had been talking to at work said the dolphin Cleo had been hanging out with and had been successful in feeding said he wasn't letting him feed him. He asked her to come back and feed him again tomorrow she said it was a date and hung up the phone. Cleo went upstairs happy as a clam which I've never understood because I don't think they're really all that happy at least not the ones I've seen. As Kim came down. Mom whispered into her ear that she thought Cleo had a boyfriend. But she's so ugly?! Kim exclaimed. Kim that's not nice. We're twins after all. And if you call her ugly you're calling me ugly and you don't think I'M ugly do you? I lift an eyebrow at her. Oh no you were just gifted with the looks between the two of you.
