milani's residence ━━━ southampton, new york !"WHAT DO YOU MEAN, Dad?" She asked, crossing her hands across her stomach as she looked at her angered father. "This. You and him, it's over." He pointed between the two of them, Milani and DeVanté looked between each other before he looked back. "De'Marcus, you can't tell us what to do." He bluntly spoke, shaking his head slightly at the man in front of him.
"I can tell you anything I wanna tell you when it pertains my daughter. You don't think I know who you are? I come from the streets, I know what a bad hood boy musician when I see one." He said, scooting close the the pair. Milani unclenched her jaw before slightly walking up to him. "Dad, don't talk to him like that!" She pointed towards the floor, her father looked at her in a weirdly kind of way.
"I can say anything I wanna say to him, I am not gonna have this in my family. Now let's get one thing straight, you are to never see each other like this again, agreed?" He asked, pointing at the two. "I'm not agreeing to anything, you can't tell me who I can and cannot be with!"
"Milani, you listen to me!" He called out, Milani quickly hushed herself before she began to breath heavily. She was slightly in fear of her father's heavy and aggravated tone of voice. She'd never heard as much before besides when he and her mother were going through their fights when she was younger, but it was a sight she didn't like to hear nor see from him.
"You're going to ruin your career, you're gonna ruin your life! You're only nineteen years old, give yourself some time!" He told her, DeVanté just sat there and watched, his jaw completely clenched which refrained him from saying anything harsh towards her father — which was what he entirely wanted to do.
The sight wasn't beautiful, it was horrifying for Milani and the others around her. He'd never raised nor talked to his daughter or daughters in any way as he was doing at the moment. K-Ci, JoJo, and Dalvin all walked in on the scene, standing behind Malcom who ordered them to stay back.
"Dad, I don't care what you say, alright? Because it doesn't matter, I love him! And that's that!" She shouted, tears began to prick in her eyes as she stood up to her father. She was heartbroken inside — in the beginning she hoped that her father would've been appreciative of her relationship with DeVanté, but that wasn't the case. If anything to her, it seemed like he despised him completely.
"What did you say?" He whispered, his eyes squinted the slightest as he looked at his daughter. A single tear rolled down her cheek before she harshly wiped it away. Behind the tough skin Milani tried to present herself to be, she was easily emotional. She cried a lot, and everyone didn't know that — but they'd know soon.
