radio city music hall ━━━ new york, new york !"WHY GOOD AFTERNOON, Milani. Don't you look lovely." Kevin, her personal hairstylist, exclaimed with pure sarcasm. Milani walked in and she looked like somewhat of a complete wreck. Her eyes were a slight tint of red and dark circles were under her eyes — meaning she was out of sleep. Some people in the room took the choice to leave her alone, knowing how cranky she could get.
"Shut up, Kev." She murmured, but it was loud enough to everyone to hear. She sat in the chair, quietly as can be before Kevin began to start on her hair, turning on the hair curler as he planned to just curl her hair. "My bad, somebody woke up on the wrong side of the bed, didn't they?" Kevin spoke, his hands up in surrender, before beginning to part her hair.
She sighed heavily, closing her eyes slowly. Calista took the hint to start on her makeup. "I'm sorry, Kev. My dad had me in the studio all night and all morning, I haven't even touched the bed once within the past two days. And I miss my man." She frowned, thinking of how she and DeVanté hadn't seen each other in over a month.
He was out still promoting Forever My Lady before he locked himself back up into the studio working on the group's sophomore album. Milani, however, was stuck in New York — doing gigs after gigs, interviews after interviews, recordings after recordings, her father placed together.
Tonight, she'd be performing the Radio City Music Hall with other celebrities for a Valentine's Day festival, performing another two singles, My Heart Still Beats and Soon As I Get Home, which she'd only preform for the one time. She thought she'd be able to spend the special affectionate holiday with her significant other but she wasn't complaining as much. But she thanked god that she loved her job, because it was lot to give up.
"How long has it been since you've seen Prince Charming?" Kevin asked, parting another section of her hair. "Over a month. Me and him have been attached to the hip a lot lately, I got so used to always being around him." She whined, poking her lip out the slightest, and the two only laughed at her antic. But she didn't find it funny. She really missed her man.
"Have you at least call—" Calista began to ask before Milani's pager went off. Milani's frowned turned into a bright smile. Calista, already knowing the drill, handing her the free phone as Milani dialed DeVanté number.
"Fuck up, I'm on the phone." She heard after two single rings over the phone. Her smile grew even wider when she heard the deep raspy voice she'd been dying to hear within the next day, but she didn't have any time in her day to reach out to him. If she did, it'd be a quick conversion before her father ushered off the phone.
