MILANI FELT AN ANXIOUS feeling as she stepped into the studio booth that was also being accompanied by Quik at Skip Saylor Recording. After DeVante's departure from her and their family, heading back on the road for tour, Milani had flown out to Cali, leaving Malia to bond with her grandparents, Malcom and Marie, which was much needed.

She had been asked to feature on a track with DJ Quik for his upcoming album, Summer Breeze. The track sampled Jermaine Jackson's You Like Me, Don't You, which captured stories of his summer activities in the different stages of life, while reminiscing on the passing of some of his friends.

It was one thing that she liked about Quik's music, he told a story. Just like Tupac, every song had some kind of meaning behind it. Rather if it was dark and cold, or dirty and in some way, disrespectful. But they spoke truthfully from their heart, and truly, didn't give a fuck.

"But I regret not the whoppings I got, 'cause to be able to play the next day was okay. On a mission to hit up the neighbor's fruit trees, just a bunch of kids chillin', enjoying the summer breeze."

Milani nodded along the beat, that was flowed by Quik's soothing rapping voice. It seemed as if he was just talking to you, rather than spitting verses as a rap tune.

"Summer breeze, flowing like the wind. Boy, you need to know that you got a friend and I'll always be here."

Milani swayed back and forth, looking ahead of her watching as everyone else were nodding their heads. Snoop looked the most enjoyable, but Milani just guessed it was because he was high as a kite at the moment.

The two continued the song together, Milani adding her own little background vocals to it afterwards. Everyone gathered from their own conversations, listening over to the track that they just laid.

"Ou, this shit tight. A real summer ballad for sure, ya'll did ya'll thang." Kurupt nodded, taking a hit out of his blunt before passing it over to Nate sitting in between him and Milani. "Duh nigga, you got Quik and Milani on the same damn record, that shit was bound a hit. You gotta make this shit a single, Q."

"I might plan on that." Quik nodded, touching the soundboard a couple more times before he adverted his attention onto the others who were engaging in a conversation together.
