video LP ━━━ bet network headquarters, new york !

"WELCOME TO VIDEO LP, I'm your host Madelyne Woods. My guests today are the talented, harmonizing, soulful brothers of Jodeci. Welcome." Madelyne announced, smiling and looking at the side of her as the members spoke all together.

"I am so honored to have you here. Just in case if you don't know, this is Dalvin, K-Ci, JoJo and DeVanté in incognito over there, can't even see your face." She joked, pointing to DeVanté who was hiding his face under his smokey gray colored hoodie. "Everybody's heard the story about how you guys all got started out, all of you piled into DeVanté's escort and drove up to New York with three hundred dollars. What were you thinking?" She asked, fixing herself comfortably in the chair.

"We didn't think anything, but you know, it was something we really wanted, you know? To become recording artists and be successful. And just prayed on the way up that something would happen." K-Ci mumbled, loud enough for them to hear, but he was still very low in speaking.

"Did you think that it was going to be this big?" She asked again, expanding her hands out in demonstration. "Well we always had the confidence, you know, in ourselves that we'd be successful and that we can. But nah, you never—when it finally kicks in you're like nah, this isn't gonna happen."

If you would've told the four fellow men that they'd be super successful R&B recording artists back in 1984-ish, they would've never believed the words coming out of your mouth. They'd think you were going crazy if those words spilled out to them.

They'd be saying as long as they had to live that they never expected to come this far, and they were forever thankful for it. They weren't even done, nowhere near as close, either. DeVanté had a lot in place for the group, he just hoped that it went out smoothly and that it'd make a memorable mark with the black community, especially.

"So, who did you want to imitate? Because your style, is so completely Jodeci. Did you look up to anybody? Or want to imitate somebody? And wait a minute, can we hear from you two please?!" She pointed towards DeVanté and JoJo who hadn't talked for the entire twenty minute interview so far.

"Uh . . . I don't do much talking so DeVante can talk." JoJo told her, bluntly, placing his hand over his shoulder. JoJo talked, for sure he did, but he never talked as much in interviews as he would with people he was comfortable with.
