The sun rays peeking from the curtains were the first thing she noticed through her blurry vision. The light danced around the room as the sun made its way up the horizon.
Y/N rolled on her back, looking up at the ceiling. She noticed a rainbow dancing on the ceiling, reminding her of all the times she wished she could roll over and go back to sleep, but the day had started. And so has her body.
She yawned and rolled over on her stomach, burying her face in the pillow. Y/N caught a whiff of the familiar scent on the pillow and shot up from the bed, finally realizing where she was.
She was in Mason's bed.
"Shit," she whispered, throwing the covers off of her body. She was supposed to be sleeping on the couch, and Mason was supposed to be here instead. Y/N pulled herself from the bed and made her way to the front door, wanting to go find Mason.
She made her way down the stairs and first checked the couch for her roommate. She frowned when she realized he wasn't there. She walked in the direction of the guest room that was just around the corner, knocking on the door when she reached it.
"Mason?" Y/N knocked twice, leaning her ear against the door to try and listen for a sound.
When she couldn't hear a response, she slowly opened the door and peeked inside, hoping to see him asleep. All she saw were the messy sheets of the bed with wrinkled pillows, evident that he was still here, but not anymore.
Y/N raised her eyebrows and closed the door behind her, wondering where he could be. From the looks of it, he wasn't even home. She knew that he had to go to St. George's Park to train for an upcoming England game, but she knew he wasn't leaving until two days from now.
She made her way into the kitchen and noticed a variety of bowls and pans scattered around, with ingredients sprawled over the kitchen island. It looked like someone was here just a second ago, which even made her more confused.
Just then, Y/N heard the front door open, and she turned around, wondering if it was Mason. She watched as the football player walked into the kitchen before stopping in his tracks, seeing that the girl was awake.
