𝐘/𝐍 𝐅𝐎𝐔𝐍𝐃 𝐇𝐄𝐑𝐒𝐄𝐋𝐅 𝐏𝐄𝐑𝐂𝐇𝐄𝐃 awkwardly on the away end of the Eithiad, surrounded by a sea of passionate Manchester United fans, all clad in their iconic red jerseys. Despite the discomfort of Mason's jersey against her skin, she wore it proudly, a visible symbol of her support for him, even though he wasn't playing.
It had been a tough season for Mason, the midfielder, dealing with constant injuries that left him absent from the pitch. Y/N and Mason tried to make their long-distance relationship work, both holding up their end of the bargain. Y/N kept her promise and visited Mason every weekend, spending countless hours traveling between cities.
They celebrated New Year's in London, bringing in 2024 as well as their one-year relationship together. To the girl, she felt she'd known Mason forever, and even though it was still early, she couldn't see herself with anyone else.
During the season, she was constantly missing Mason, their weekend time together feeling shorter and shorter as United games came between them. Thankfully, during international duty, the two managed to spend more time together.
Now she was sitting in the Etihad Stadium, cheering on Manchester United as they played against their biggest rivals, City.
Regrettably, Mason's family couldn't attend the game, leaving Y/N to sit alone, fervently cheering for Manchester United amidst the enthusiastic crowd. It was a tense game, as Manchester derbies usually are. As she observed, the team desperately sought any open opportunity to turn the game around. It was now the second half, and the score was tied between City and United.
The match progressed, and a sense of stagnation hung in the air. However, the 8th minute proved to be a turning point, albeit in the wrong direction. Y/N held her breath as Foden scored a beautiful goal, pushing City in front.
Groans of disappointment echoed through the away end, drowned out by the jubilation of City fans as the stadium vibrated with their excitement.
The game's hope dwindled when Haaland managed to score in extra time, securing the victory for the Blues. Y/N keenly observed Mason's visible frustration, disheartened by the team's inability to stage a comeback.
As the final whistle blew, she swiftly made her way out, heading to Old Trafford Stadium to meet the players. Upon arriving, the coach was already parked, and players began disembarking. Y/N soon found Mason, recognizing him even with his hood obscuring his features.
Leaning against his car, she watched him approach, the hoodie masking his sunken expression. Y/N greeted him with a small smile, wrapping her arms around him in a comforting hug and planting a soft kiss on his cheek.
