𝐈𝐓 𝐇𝐀𝐃 𝐁𝐄𝐄𝐍 𝐀 𝐃𝐀𝐘 𝐒𝐈𝐍𝐂𝐄 𝐒𝐇𝐄 𝐂𝐀𝐋𝐋𝐄𝐃 𝐌𝐀𝐒𝐎𝐍. She knew he and the rest of the squad were preparing for their first game against Iran tomorrow. Y/N felt a little nervous for the team, hoping they would do well. She wasn't a huge fan of football, but she knew how much this tournament meant for everyone in England.
To keep herself busy and distract herself from the game looming over the England team's heads, she decided to do some laundry. She was about halfway through her final load when her phone rang.
Clarke.
Y/N paused her laundry folding and picked up her cell phone, wedging it between her ear and shoulder to answer Clarke's call.
"Hey Y/N," he spoke through the phone.
"Hi Clarke, How are you?" Y/N greeted.
"Fine, I was just calling to tell you that I'll have to cancel our date on Monday," he confessed, causing Y/N to furrow her eyebrows in shock.
"What? Why?" she pouted, trying to hide her disappointment.
"I'm really sorry, Y/N. It's just the boys are throwing a watch party for the England game, and it totally slipped my mind."
"Y/N, what are your plans for the game on Monday?" Ben asked her, the two of them walking alongside each other on the street. Ben decided to accompany the girl on a trip to the local farmer's market after training, seeing as he had nothing else to do for the day. He held two canvas totes filled with fresh produce, walking aimlessly behind her as she continued to shop for food.
The girl shrugged, stopping briefly to examine the fresh produce in front of her. She picked up a couple of limes, squeezing them gently before smiling with satisfaction and placing them in the mesh basket she held in her hands.
"Nothing, really. I think me and Clarke were going to hang out for a bit," she spoke, looking back at Ben. When she turned around, Ben's face dropped in annoyance at the mention of Clarke's name. The girl had told the Chelsea player that she started seeing Clarke, and Ben felt a little indifferent about the situation.
"What are you doing?" She asked, turning the question back on him.
"Well, I and some of the guys are going to watch it at my place." He confessed, his eyes following hers as she looked at a couple of fruits. "You're always welcome to come."
"I will see. It sounds fun," She smiled, appreciative of the offer. She had made plans with Clarke. The two of them planned a date, with Y/N wanting to use the time to get to know him a bit more. She really liked him; he was funny and good company. Of course, with it being a new relationship, she wanted to learn everything about him.
