The two of them were making their way to Stamford Bridge, where Chelsea was playing their game against Newcastle. This would officially be the last game of the year, considering that the World Cup is about to commence. Y/N figured it would be best for her to go and support her friends, seeing them play one last time before they left for international duty.

"Tomorrow. You?" She asked, remembering that Mason actually never brought up when he'd be leaving to join the rest of the England squad.

"Monday."

"I'll definitely miss your cooking." He joked, turning the wheel as he pulled into the parking lot of the stadium. Y/N rolled her eyes, folding her arms over her chest as she gave him a playful smirk.

"Is that all that I'm good for?" She teased, making Mason nod confidently.

"Absolutely."

The two settled into a comfortable silence, Mason parking his car with ease as the two of them sat there, enjoying each other's company for the moment.

Y/N looked over at the Chelsea player, seeing that he was busy staring at the entrance of the stadium.

"Are you nervous?" She asked, seeing that his breathing had become slow. They both knew she wasn't talking about the Chelsea game that would start in less than two hours, but instead, she was referencing the international competition he'd be entering, trying his best to win the trophy for England. It was a lot of pressure.

"Yes," Mason said honestly, his shoulders relaxing slightly.

"You should be fine. It's scary, but just enjoy it."

Y/N smiled and reached out her hands, resting them on top of Mason's. She gave his hand a comforting squeeze, reminding him that she was there for him. Mason felt his heart warm up, glancing down at his hand that was underneath hers. He looked back at her, seeing that she was staring right back at him with a smile on her face.

"Thank you," he said genuinely.

It seemed like she always knew what to say. That was one thing he liked about her. Her overwhelming and radiant burst of optimism

The two parted ways quickly. Y/N headed to the family and friends section of the stands while Mason headed to the locker room. As she settled into her seat, she took in the bustling atmosphere of the stadium. Suddenly, she heard someone call her name. She turned to see Ben approaching with a smile.
