𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐅𝐈𝐍𝐀𝐋 𝐆𝐀𝐌𝐄 𝐎𝐅 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐒𝐄𝐀𝐒𝐎𝐍 had come to a close, leaving Y/N with a whirlwind of emotions. Standing amidst the fans, she joined in the thunderous applause that echoed through the stadium as the team received a standing ovation. The players, acknowledging the crowd's appreciation, made their rounds around the field.
The match had concluded in a tie, much to the disappointment of the fans. Y/N found herself seated in the family and friends section, surrounded by a few of Mason's relatives. Proudly adorned in Mason's jersey, with his number boldly displayed on the back, she watched as the players returned to the center of the pitch.
As the majority of the spectators began to disperse, Y/N followed Mason's family down the stands, making her way toward the players' area. Eager to reunite with Mason, she couldn't contain her excitement.
Once on the pitch, she wasted no time in rushing towards Mason, enveloping him in a warm hug. The footballer reciprocated with equal enthusiasm, pulling her close for a kiss and wearing a wide, victorious smile.
"Hello, love," Mason greeted, his fingers gently running through her hair. Y/N returned the smile and planted a kiss on his cheek, savoring the sweet moment of celebration. The air buzzed with a mixture of post-game adrenaline and the joy of being reunited after the intense match.
"Are you sad that it's over?" She asked, watching Mason's expression shift.
"Yeah, a bit," he said, his tone carrying a hint of nostalgia. As the crowd noise gradually faded, he continued, "It's always bittersweet when the season comes to an end."
"Yeah, it is," she agreed. "Especially with so many of the team leaving," she spoke sadly, turning around to notice a couple of players, most of them with their families.
She spotted Chris on the edge of the sidelines, a somewhat solemn expression on his face.
"I'll be right back," she said to Mason. "I want to speak to Chris."
"Okay, I'll be here," he said, giving her one more kiss on the forehead. She waved him goodbye and walked in Chris's direction. Just as she approached the footballer, she couldn't help but start to well up, with Chris noticing her before she called out his name.
"Aw, don't cry, Y/N," he laughed, bringing the girl into a hug. She was quick to hug him back, tears streaming down her face.
"I'm going to miss you so much," she sighed. She couldn't stop the tears from flowing down, trying to prevent herself from sobbing. Chris laughed a bit as he held her, slowly rubbing the girl's back as they continued to hug.
