"𝐒𝐇𝐄'𝐒 𝐆𝐎𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐓𝐎 𝐊𝐈𝐋𝐋 𝐘𝐎𝐔," Ben sighed, folding his arms across his chest. He watched as Mason examined his new blonde hair in the mirror, styling it carefully.
"No, she won't. I look well." He mumbled, his concentration still focused on the top of his head. He took a step once he realized he looked good, pulling out his phone from his pocket.
"I'm going to call her." He announced, quickly pulling up her contact. Just before she picked up, he watched as the phone rang for a couple of seconds.
The video of her appeared on the screen. Y/N smiled just before she clocked Mason's hair, shock evident on her face. She didn't say a word; her mouth hung wide, dramatically, as Mason only laughed.
"Hey," he said, smiling at her.
"Oh, my, Mason. What did you do?" She asked, sounding a bit shocked.
"Do you like it?" He asked, ignoring her initial question. He watched as she cocked her head toward the decision, clearly arguing with herself about what to do next.
"Yeah, it looks good." She shrugged. "Weirdly."
"Serious?"
"Yeah, especially with your tan." She added an encouraging smile on her face. Mason had looked a bit different since he left England. He had listened to the girl and religiously applied sun cream, getting a nice tan on his skin that made him glow underneath the Spanish sun. With the new color, he felt a bit more confident, and he felt like the next chapter of his life was about to begin.
"Well, I'm glad you like it." Mason smiled, feeling a bit more relieved. "The boys and I are about to go out; chat later."
"Yeah, bye Mase!" She waved. He mirrored her response and hung up the phone. He turned around to look at Ben. The defender had Sky Sports pulled up on the TV, casually watching.
On the screen were various pictures of footballers, all rumored to leave their clubs. Mason was the main one, making him wince a bit.
"How did Y/N take the news?" Ben asked, his eyes peeling away from the screen for a brief moment, looking at Mason. The midfielder only shrugged, sitting on the edge of the bed.
"Fine. She was excited even," Mason answered, recalling back to the dinner they had. It seemed like everything had been going according to plan. He knew that the minute he went back to England, the work would have to start again.
Mason didn't notice the confused look on Ben's face, thinking back to Mason's statement.
"She was excited." He asked again, sounding a bit surprised.
