𝐌𝐀𝐒𝐎𝐍 𝐖𝐎𝐊𝐄 𝐔𝐏 𝐄𝐀𝐑𝐋𝐘 𝐈𝐍 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐌𝐎𝐑𝐍𝐈𝐍𝐆, the room still cloaked in darkness and tranquility. He let out a tired yawn and raised his head, scanning the empty space beside him with a slight frown, his mind wondering about the whereabouts of his girlfriend.
Swinging his feet over the edge of the bed, he made contact with the cool floor, an immediate jolt of wakefulness surging through him. His fingers fumbled for a pair of sweatpants lying on the floor, hastily pulling them over his boxers.
"Y/N?" He called out, his voice breaking the silence but receiving no response. The dimly lit room offered little in the way of clues, with the sole source of illumination coming from the bathroom, where a faint fluorescent light emanated from beneath the door.
Mason gently wrapped his knuckles against the bathroom door, hoping for a reply. Yet all that met his ears was a hushed void. A sense of unease crept over him as he pushed the door open, a sudden gust of chilly air sweeping through.
His body shivered involuntarily as he scanned the bathroom, his gaze fixed on the slightly ajar window next to the bathtub. Perplexity knitted his brows as he wondered why the window was open at this early hour. Moving closer to close it, his peripheral vision caught something on the edge of the roof.
"What on earth?" He muttered softly, his voice almost lost in the emptiness, as he spotted a figure perched near the roof's edge. To his astonishment, it was his girlfriend.
Without a second thought, Mason clambered through the window, one foot landing firmly on the cool roof tiles of his house. As he made his way onto the roof, he approached the girl with caution, wary of startling her and causing an accident.
"Hey," he called out gently, his voice a soothing murmur in the pre-dawn stillness. He settled down beside her, his heart still pounding with concern.
Y/N turned her head and offered a warm smile as she acknowledged Mason's presence. "Hi."
Mason's worry lingered, a reflection of last night's intense conversation still etched in his thoughts. He knew that such revelations would stir up painful memories of her abusive relationship. He regarded her with a gentle gaze, his concern apparent.
"How are you?" he inquired softly, his voice laced with a sense of understanding. He couldn't help but wonder how she was truly feeling after sharing such a harrowing experience.
Y/N shifted her gaze from the sunrise to Mason's earnest eyes. Her lips curled into a genuine smile, a radiant warmth illuminating her features. "Happy," she replied with certainty, her voice filled with gratitude and affection. "With you."
