"I won't forget," she murmured to herself, the words carrying a heavy weight of memories and regrets. Tears welled up in her eyes as she stared at the storm outside, feeling the tumult of emotions that mirrored the tempest in her heart.

Lisa recalled every painful moment from her time in prison, her eyelids drooping slightly to hide the pain that still lingered.

4 YEARS AGO FLASHBACK

The rain poured relentlessly, each drop like a miniature drumbeat accompanying Lisa as she stood drenched in front of Irene, who held an umbrella.

"I want to talk to Jennie, please, Irene!" Lisa's voice trembled as her tears mixed with the raindrops, and desperation colored her every word.

Irene regarded her with a pitiful expression and replied, "I told you, she's not here."

"Don't hide her. I know she's here," Lisa pleaded.

"Lisa, listen!" Irene's interruption was sharp and pointed. She continued with a sneer, enunciating each word, "There's nothing to talk about. She's already married. I hope you'll understand."

Lisa argued, "Why? She doesn't love him, I know."

Irene countered, her voice laced with anger, "What do you know about love? What has Jennie done to you to betray her?"

Lisa grew paler with each accusation, but her determination didn't waver despite the relentless rain soaking her through.

"We're going to have a child, so please let me... Jennie?!" Lisa cried out, desperately hoping for Jennie to appear.

"You'd better leave before Jiyong returns," Irene cautioned, her voice calm but warning in its tone.

"Jennie?!" Lisa continued to call out, moving toward the main door of the house.

"Lisa, stop! I said stop!" Irene's voice carried the urgency of the moment.

Suddenly, the blaring of a police siren cut through the tension, and the squad car came to a screeching halt in front of them.

"Hey! Raise your hands!" The police officer's authoritative command jolted Lisa into panic.

"Now, get on your knees!" Trembling, Lisa obeyed, lowering herself with her hands on her head.

"Sir, I didn't do anything. You've made a mistake!" Her eyes held disbelief and fear.

The police officer shook his head and replied sternly, "Explain that at the police station."

Still in shock, Lisa was handcuffed as she prepared to stand up. It was then that she caught sight of Jennie at the window.

"Jennie?!"

"Sir! Jennie is here. I want to talk to her, we can sort this out," Lisa pleaded, trying to convince the officer.

But the police, unmoved by her appeals, escorted her into the squad car.

As she entered the vehicle, she begged one last time, "Sir! Please, just let me talk to her one last time."

Despite her pleas, the police officer remained resolute, driving her to the police station in an official manner.

With the resounding thud of the judge's gavel, the fate of Lisa Manoban was sealed. Guilty of trespassing on private property and found in possession of a .45 calibre pistol in her car, the courtroom's judgment felt like a thunderbolt to Lisa. Her mind was in turmoil, and she slumped in her chair, overwhelmed with hopelessness.

Given the gravity of the case, Lisa received a sentence of 5 years in prison.

As the courtroom emptied, the victorious man at the back couldn't conceal his grin. Jiyong raised his feet and departed, satisfied with the outcome.
