Jennie Kim married her childhood sweetheart, Kwon Jiyong, a business tycoon, when he returned from Europe and proposed to her, fulfilling his promise to marry her upon his return. Jennie accepted wholeheartedly, as she had known Jiyong for years and they shared a past romance.
While there's no formula for a perfect relationship, Jennie and Jiyong's marriage has remained stable over four years, overcoming various trials with steadfast support for each other. They have been blessed with a handsome and intelligent son.
Throughout their marriage, the couple has prioritized their son's privacy, allowing him the autonomy to decide if and when he wants to step into the public eye. Their desire to protect his privacy stems from a genuine concern for his well-being and a desire to provide him with a typical and safe upbringing, free from the pressures and intrusions that often accompany fame and fortune.
Jennie Kim, now the CEO of Kim's Logistics Corporation, is preparing for a crucial press conference to unveil the company's groundbreaking product. Her cousin, Kim Jisoo, is taking care of her child downstairs as the nanny is on a well-deserved vacation after years of dedicated service.
JENNIE POV.
I want to take a nap for a while, but a persistent headache has been nagging at me all morning. The fluorescent lights overhead seem to be intensifying the pain behind my eyes, and every keystroke sends a throbbing sensation through my temples. I reach for a bottle of water and some over-the-counter pain relievers, hoping they'll provide some relief. Just as I was about to close my eyes, I heard a child cry, and I hurried down the stairs to see what had happened.
I saw the idiot laughing her ass off, holding her stomach to suppress her laughter as her mouth was full of chocolates.
"My Goodness, Jisoo!"
I walked over to her, giving her a stern look. When she felt my presence, she quickly got up and took the child onto her lap.
"Shush, baby, mommy is coming. I'm just teasing you like we used to do, right? I'll buy you a bunch of chocolates later, okay? But for now, you have to stop crying, or else your mom will kill me. She's so scary, look!"
This woman didn't mind that I could hear her; she's as unbelievable as ever. I saw her stroking Hyeong's back to calm him down, but the kid cried even more when he saw me.
"Mommy!"
He jumped off from Jisoo's lap and ran towards me. I knelt down to reach his level, and he clung to my nape as he cried. I rubbed his back and pulled him to look at me, his eyes filled with tears.

"Mo... Mommy, Auntie Chupapy," he stammered, tears rolling down his cheeks. I wiped his tears away, taking the towel from his back to dry the sweat on his forehead. Leaning down, I kissed his forehead gently.
