A/N: UPDATE TIME!

I wanted to thank you guys so so so so much for reading my story! A year or two ago I'd only posted up two chapters and no one was reading it. Now, I have almost 1.8K votes! AH.

But if you guys like this story, trust me, you would probably enjoy my best friend Nicole's (@deathbunny) story better. It's written so much better. So if you can, check out Dear Jasper for her. It'd make her day. (She doesn't know I'm doing this either I don't think)

ANYWHO.

7.3K reads, 1.77K votes and 600 comments is beyond exciting right now! So please keep on voting, commenting and sharing ^.^ Thanks again c:

If you have any covers, please send them to the email in my bio<3

It's nearing chapter 30, and I know this story will probably go for about 50 chapters so don't you worry. I have some exciting stuff planned for some certain people. *wink, nudge*

For now, I thought Grace's mum Stephanie deserved some happiness, right? It's not the most exciting chapter ever though sorry.

So as always...

Enjoy c;

Grace's POV

My mum was still freaking out by the time Jake and I got home. It'd only been an hour we were out for but she could have possibly calmed down by then.

Or not.

Five hours after that we had the apple crumble in the oven, the chicken cooking for the pesto pasta and the table already set.

The clock was nearing five o'clock and Mitch would probably be here soon so my mum had rushed off to get dressed. She wasn't some crazy teenage girl who seemed to need a gazillion hours to get ready. She just wanted to get changed and put on some make up. The shower was used up already this morning as an attempt to calm her down.

"Should I just leave this in the oven but turn it off?" I asked Jake, referring to the apple crumble whose timer just went off.

"Yeah may as well." He shrugged. "We want it warm not cold."

Jake was flipping over the chicken at the fry pan to make sure it cooked evenly. He'd dressed up slightly for tonight and he did look really cute.

Not that cute... but cute... you know?

He was wearing some dark jeans and one of the t-shirts my mum got him for his birthday. At first his hair was combed down but in the moment of cooking all the food with me he was constantly running his fingers through his hair. I didn't really mind though. It looked better messed up.

"You okay with all this?" Jake suddenly asked me.

I looked at him confused. "With what?"

"Your mum dating someone."

"Well yeah. I want her to be happy. She was with my dad but he's gone now and Mitch makes her happy so why not? It's not that difficult. Be with who makes you happy." I told him.

It didn't make much sense how I said it then but if Mitch is the reason for all her smiles these days, I want her to be with him.

"Most people aren't okay with their parents meeting someone new, you know?"

"Not really. But for all we know, Mitch and I might not get along. Then I might start to question it."

Jake nodded. "True."
