Grace's POV
"He didn't." I couldn't help the smile that formed on my lips.
"HE DID!" Harley squealed on the other side of the phone and I had to move my mobile away from my face so she didn't damage my ears.
Don't need a hearing aid at the age of sixteen.
"Aw, I'm so happy for you." I told her.
She laughed in response, "I'm happy for me too."
Harley had just spent the past fifteen minutes telling me what happened this afternoon after school. Just as we thought our plan didn't work out... BAM. Chase comes rushing in and makes his move. So now those two are dating (after Chase got down on one knee and asked her while Harley was completely freaking out because well, it looked like a freaking marriage proposal) and I'm dating Chris, just have to find someone for Jake. We can all go on triple dates because that's totally a thing.
"I have to go G, Chase is trying to call me."
"Okie dokie. Night."
"Night."
There was a knock on my bedroom door and I turned to see Jake leaning against the door frame. He looked calm and not as sad as he had been the past few days.
"Hey, what's up?" I asked him, turning in my desk chair to face him fully.
"Looks like your dating site worked for your mum." He half smiled.
I got up off my chair and walked towards him, "oh really?"
"Unless there's another reason for her to be dressing up on a Friday night?" He questioned, raising an eyebrow.
I gently pushed Jake aside and looked across into my mum's room where I could see her putting on some dark purple dangle earrings that match her long dark purple dress. Her hair was curled up and she was wearing makeup. Overall, she looked more like a model than my own mother.
"Oh my gosh." I turned back to look at Jake, stunned.
"I know right. I wonder what a younger version of her dressed up like that would look like."
"She would look really pretty then." I nodded, agreeing with him then stopped. "Oh wait, I'm the younger version of her."
Jake just chuckled slightly to himself and shook his head, "You're so silly... and unobservant."
I fake gasped and slapped his arm lightly.
"I am so observant. I could never look as nice as my mum right now." I said.
"Gracie, you're the most beautiful girl ever." He gave my shoulder a little nudge, smiling. I just blushed and looked down at my feet.
"Don't let the girl you're crushing on hear you say that." I looked back up at him, hoping the redness in my cheeks had died down.
"Too late." He whispered.
My mum walked over to us and gave a little twirl saying, "what do you think?"
