Grace's POV
"You're late." Harley told Jake and I as we approached the doorsteps to my house.
Jake and I only just got back from meeting his aunt Sophie and my mum mustn't have been home yet to let Harley inside.
I looked down at my watch. "It's only four."
"That only gives us two hours to get ready!" Harley grabbed my bag and got the house keys out.
"Jeez Harley. That's plenty of time." Jake told her, trying to hide his amusement at her desperateness to get inside.
"Maybe for you Jake but for two girls, it really isn't."
I rolled my eyes at Harley. "Knowing you, you've already picked out our outfits and decided what we're doing for our hair and makeup."
Harley opened the door and walked inside, Jake and I following behind her.
"Your point?"
Jake took my hand and pulled me over towards the lounge room. "Well how about you start getting ready and Gracie and I will just wait-"
"You guys can make out later. I need opinions." Harley cut Jake off and took my arm, pulling me away.
I laughed at Jake's frown as Harley dragged me away. He was too cute.
My face too however turned into a frown when Harley locked my bedroom door once she had pushed me inside.
"What's that for?"
Harley headed over towards my cupboard and began pulling out some clothes and laying them on my bed.
"So that you and Jake don't get distracted." Harley shrugged.
I nodded thoughtfully, kind of just accepting the fact that that would probably have happened.
"Fair enough then."
"Okay okay so, what do you think about these jeans," Harley lifted up my pair of just plain, black denim jeans that weren't super tight or super loose, "and this shirt?" I looked down to my bed at the top she was referring to.
Now don't get me wrong, the top was really nice. It was probably one of my favourite shirts because of the dark navy, lace design of it, but it was kind of flashy if you know what I mean. There were no straps, which means it had to be relatively tight to stay on me. I did kind of like how the bottom of the top flared out though. That made it look more appealing.
"Isn't the cut on this shirt a bit... low?" I asked Harley.
Harley furrowed her eyebrows together, concentrating on the shirt. Every now and then her eyes would look over at me. She was probably trying to remember the last time I had worn it. Let me tell you, I had probably worn it once.
"You're right." Harley nodded. "The jeans would ruin the whole look. It's not fancy enough for a date."
Harley picked up the jeans and folded them back up. "This is why I said I needed opinions."
