A/N: Hello hello!
Sorry for the long wait v.v It's a short chapter too sorry. It's kind of a filler.
I was getting through my first ever exam block. It was hectic. So that's why this is so late.
I'll update again hopefully this week (so like tomorrow or day after) as per the usual weekly update.
Also I have some exciting news c:
Firstly, 2K votes is so exciting ;-; I can't even.
Secondly, I have a news story called The Bad Boy's Secret. Only the prologue so far but I'm hoping to write more in the holidays and that writing more will eventually improve my writing. Sorry for the unoriginal name. I'll probably change it. OH AND THERE'LL BE LIKE SOME MATURE LANGUAGE AND SUCH IN IT SO YEAH. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.
Dedicated to
Now as always, unedited.
Enjoy ~

Jake's POV
I almost laughed at the look of shock on Grace's face right now. Her mum would find out anyway, so it wasn't that big of a deal.
"What are you two doing?" Her mum looked between us, eyes wide.
"Uh we were just...Looking for my earrings!" Grace suddenly burst out.
Ms Williams' mouth turned up into a smirk slightly.
"In each other's mouths?"
"Yes?" Grace's face was about as red as a tomato.
Ms Williams looked over at me.
"Well why don't we go inside?" I suggested. "I guess we have a story to tell."
For a second I felt a bit rude, inviting myself in basically but I did live here after all. Well, maybe not for long.
We all took a sit on the couch inside, Grace and I trying not to sit too close together. I did grab her hand though. I still needed her to know I was here for her in this, well, not so hard time. We were only talking to her mum. We both saw her every day.
"So... who wants to share?" Ms Williams spoke up.
"Well... I really love your daughter." I began, unsure of how to go about this.
"I'm aware."
"Yeah, and... wait what?" She knew?
A big grin was on her face. "I'm not an idiot sweetie. I know all about your feelings towards each other."
"How?" Grace asked.
"I live with you." She laughed.
"Oh true..." Grace and I both said.
"So is it okay if we, you know, date?" I asked.
"Why wouldn't it be?" Ms Williams asked.
"Well the guy your daughter is dating, lives in the same house as you..."
"You want me to kick you out?"
"Mum!" Grace cried out. "Don't kick him out."
"He suggested it." She pointed at me.
So kind.
"I just wanted to know if you're okay with it." I told her.
"As long as there's nothing weird going on around in this house. And by weird I mean sex."
"Oh my gosh." Grace hid her head in her hands. "I'm going to kill myself."
"Grace please, stop whining. I just don't want to be a grandmother yet." Her mum scolded her.
"Uh Ms Williams I can assure you, nothing like that would happen." I tried to comfort her.
Ms Williams looked at me with an eyebrow raised. "You telling me you don't want to sleep with my daughter?"
"I'm actually going to kill myself..." Grace muttered.
"What no." I could feel my face heating up. "I would love to."
"So you lied to me?"
"Mum." Grace spoke up. "You don't have to worry about Jake and I. Nothing like that would happen until I'm probably at least thirty, and even then, it would not happen in this household."
I nodded, agreeing with her.
30 seemed like a long time to wait though...
"I know. Just checking." Her mum laughed. Wow.
"So you're okay with it?" I asked to make sure.
"Yeah of course." She shrugged. "Of all people, I trust you with my daughter Jake."
Just then, my phone went off.
Usually in any situation I would have ignored it. Especially when I was with Gracie and her mum. This phone call wasn't like others though.
Because that asshole was calling.
"Sorry." I told them. "I have to take this."
I quickly walked over to my room, looking behind me to check Grace didn't come after me.
I answered the ringing phone. "What?"
"Well that's not the sound of a happy boyfriend." Chris laughed.
"What do you want?" I asked, through gritted teeth.
The last thing I wanted to do right now was here his voice.
"Just wanting to know where my money is."
"I don't have it." I told him.
He chuckled. "I heard Grace likes to go to the lake." The grip on my phone tightened. "Maybe I'll see her down there soon."
"You stay away from her." I said through gritted teeth.
"I just want what you took from me. Simple. Get the money and you can keep the girl. Don't get the money... well then we have a problem."
"I'm not getting you anything."
"You have a week." Then he hung up.
A week? Where would I get $1000 in a week? I didn't have a job. I couldn't just ask anyone for it.
Gracie wouldn't get hurt. I won't let anything happen to her.
There was a soft knock on my door and I turned round to see Grace smiling sheepishly at me.
"You okay?" She asked.
I ran my fingers through my hair, letting out a sigh. "Fine."
"You don't seem fine." Grace walked over to me and wrapped her arms around my waist, giving me a big hug.
I relaxed my shoulders and hugged her back. She was like a pillow I swear, so huggable.
"What's up?" Grace tried again.
I hesitated. "Just... If you go anywhere, can you let me know? I just got you and I don't think I'm ready to leave you yet."
She grinned and poked my cheek. "So this is what a protective boyfriend is like."
"Oh shut up. I just want to spend time with my favourite girl."
"Favourite? Are there others?" She fake gasped.
"Please, you know you're the only one." I kissed her cheek.
"You too. You know, if you were wondering."
I rolled my eyes. "Totally."
"What is this? Teen Moms?" I heard Grace's mum yell out to us. "Get out here and eat your damn tacos."
Grace laughed and smiled at me. "Come on, better go eat."
I just hoped I could keep that smile on her face.
