15- father's anger

"Sectors? You have sectors?" Alex asks in disbelief.

I nod towards him with my mouth full of ice cream. I offer him some and he shakes his head.

"Yeh, sectors. This is first sector. The one below us is the market sector. Then so on and so forth. That's why there are very few here."

"This place is a lot more complicated than I thought." Alex mutters. He grabs my ice cream and takes a bite from it.

"Didn't you read the book your father gave you? If you got to the mates part then you should have gotten over all the sectors and what they all are." I take my ice cream back.

"So you're telling me that the book my father gave me has all the information about demons?"

"I'm saying that if you read the book you'd understand everything I'm saying." I lean back in my chair and take another bite of ice cream. "But what I don't understand is how you knew about mates."

"Father told me to read the book and tell him the most interesting thing in it. I skimmed it until I saw mates. Then I remebered Ethan saying someyhing about supernaturals having mates and read up on it. Appearently it is possible." Alex strugs and reaches for my ice cream again.

"Are you only a hunter?" I ask quietly.

Alex's head snaps up and his gray eyes look worried. "Well, among being a royal, no. I'm also a spokesperson for the angels sometimes."

I frown but play with the charm on my necklace. I feel power moving towards me quickly. I hide the necklace in my shirt and throw my feet on the table in a disrespectful manner. Alex scowls at me and I flash him a toothy grin.

"YOUR MISSION IS NOT COMPLETE! WHY THE FUCK ARE YOU HOME!?" I hear my father bellow down the hall. I tilt my chair back some and see him storming down that hall.

I frown when I realize it's my dad.

"Shit!" I mutter under my breath. I stand up and quickly shepard Alex down another hall. "Follow me!"

He nods and I take off at a brisk run. I lead him through the halls and into the training room here.

"Ah, Ash. I see you brung a friend. Who is he?" The instructor says.

"Shush!" I peek into the hall and see he isn't around. I push Alex to the far end of the room and hand him a wooden sword. He looks at it confused and opens his mouth before the doors slam open. I grab the nearest weapon and hold the tip up in the air. A silver dagger.

I use my supernatural speed to spin and throw the dagger at my father. He catches it and drops it to the floor. I make my eyes go wide.

"Dad! I thought you were Jessie following me!" The lie falls smoothly from my mouth. He takes slow steps forward making me take ones back. He freezes and turns his eyes to slightly past me. I look over my shoulder and see him looking at Alex.

"Why the hell do you have a prince here, Ash?" Dad yells.

"I want him. He is all mine. You cannot take him from me." I say defensively, almost growling at the thought of him being taken away from me.

"The hell I can! I am not only your father but the Devil himself. You will understand that I don't want any low life human around my daughter." His demon is pushing forward trying to make me submit. Not on this dad.

"I know you love me but I want him. He seems to calm me for some reason." I try explaining. I take a few steps.

"HE IS YOUR MATE!?" My father bellows.
